loved the cattle barons ball. It was always a highlight of the season in the origional. But didn't they used to dress up for it? but then that was the 80's any excuse for a nancy reagan ball gown.
Yeah, the opening credits have the same music and the "triptyct" visuals as the old, but without showing the characters. Here's a mega version of the old credits, edited with everyone who was ever in them. (I forgot Ian McShane was in this show!) [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Rlb427v8Sk[/yt] I forget, does Christopher know he's Suellen's biological nephew? Does everyone know?
I missed those too. I hope they bring 'em back. I was wondering the same thing. Shooting someone in the back across a field while they're running away is the exact situation I think of when "unreasonable force" comes to mind.
The external locations are, but according to Texas Monthly, very little is being shot in Dallas. The production company made the city cough up about $300k to update their studio and yet they're bringing very little filming related revenue because they rarely film in the state. Course, we have the state legislature to blame for part of that. They wouldn't pass a competitive film incentive package, so lots of productions are leaving the state. Texas has a pretty generous form of the Castle doctrine, but if she shot him in the back as he fled, that's not going to allowed by the courts. But I'm sure the family could pay off the judge.
Plans for international distribution. It'll probably do great, but I'm surprised they haven't already done this. Sounds like they waited to see if it did well in America first. I thought international sales happened faster nowadays.
That painting was in a few places over the years. The house, Ewing Oil. I remember a scene with J.R. taking it with him as he leaves Ewing Oil (after Cliff Barnes took over). On that, I remember John Ross saying something about Cliff Barnes being in charge of Ewing Oil. Didn't Bobby & Sue Ellen get control back in the first TV movie? Are they ignoring the TV movies?
^ Maybe a lot has happened since 1998. Cliff is supposed to show up soon, so maybe we'll find out something.
^ Assuming there is one... Spoiler: Knots That show had a crossover with Dallas' dream season. So perhaps the entirety of KL is part of Pam's dream?
I enjoyed the premiere very much! Bringing in the old cast doesn't always work out, but I thought they blended the older/newer cast very well. I like all of the strategizing and maneuvering going on already! Can't wait for next week's episode.
I thought Alexis preferred to swim in mud puddles? Krystle can be played by Kim Kardashian with bleached blonde hair. They drown each other in a mud puddle. Ratings through the roof!
I don't have to see another episode to tell you this new DALLAS even with JR et al will never be as thoroughly entertaining or as good as the original.
