My attitude has always been: if you go to the gym and reap physical health benefits and happiness from it, more power to you. Knock yourself out and have a great time.

But I don't want nor need to hear every detail about it.

You lift weights, run on a treadmill and ride a stationary bike. You're not the Pope.

    Wait... WHAT?

...gyms have NO religious component for humans?!? That makes no sense then. Why would humans *pay* to do what would normally considered to be *work*?

...there must be a bacon reward in there somewhere...

Can't say I have this either. On the other hand some of then keeps going on about the adoooorable things their kids does. And I'm not talking every now and then. Like every other if not the majority of the post are about it. I un-friended one because of that and I'm thinking of doing the same to another. I mean, I get that you love your family, I really do, but there's gotta be a fucking moment where you go "Oh, maybe not the best thing to reiterate. Again."

I was guilty of this when our son was in the NICU for 8 days. Every bit of progress was televised.

It always bugs me when my friends decide I need to know every little thing they are doing.

That's a very different situation, though, and many people probably appreciated the constant updates.

I have a friend who habitually posts videos of her kids singing songs and such. Every once in a while is cute, but it's reached the point where I bypass pretty much every one of her updates. The only ones I read lately were her son's recent trip to ER after a bad fall. I adore kids and have 3 of my own, but this woman still drives me nuts.
