Does the recent news about Rick Pitino undo all that he has done as a coach?

Does it matter that none of this would have been a big deal if he hadnt been the victim of extortion?

None of this will have any effect on his legacy. Sure, other coaches will try to use this to their advantage when they're going after the same recruits as Pitino, but it won't matter that much. America is soft on everything from affairs to steroids to vehicular manslaughter while driving drunk.

But if you run a dog fighting ring and kill dogs, that's going too far!

I couldn't agree with you more (but just this once, so don't get used to it).

If he had consensual sex with a dog and paid for the dog's abortion, he wouldn't only be out of a job by now. He'd be in jail. How messed up is that?

    Yer Pal,

    To me he's a punchline.
He wasn't though, years ago when he coached the Wildcats.

Same here based on his hatchet job of "rebuilding" the Celtics for a decade.

That shouldn't matter. By his own admission, he was never qualified to be in the pros.
