    This is my latest acquisition:

It's a vintage top of the line Onkyo stereo tuner. Got it for an amazingly good price through a local Craigslist ad. It brings in radio broadcasts from near and far, and makes the stronger channels sound like CD quality. :)

I got a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E125 laptop today. It has a 11.6" screen, dual core AMD CPU (E-350), 4GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive and all the other useful bits and pieces. ;)

    Love that retro styling.

Thanks for the advice about the sound on the new bedroom TV I got too. I did think about hooking up a pair of speakers to it, but at the moment, I don't use it often enough to make it worth the hassle.

I took the old TV to the recycling centre today. Clearly, I'm not the only one who has taken the digital TV switchover as an opportunity to finally get round to buying a new TV. There were a good handful of small bedroom/portable CRT TVs there already just from today. Still felt a bit annoying to give away an otherwise working TV. Oh well, it served me well for many, many years so I suppose I shouldn't gripe.

Will be interested to hear what you make of it; I was thinking about picking it up myself at some point.

Made the most of the glorious Indian Summer we're having by having lunch al fresco at a local cafe, and then later cocktails in the early evening on the terrace of a favourite bar/restaurant. Highly productive fiscal expenditure. :D

A new battery for my toughbook. That ultra-super-duper military spec battery died on me... Still, it held for over nearly eight years. God bless the US Marine Corps!

Bought a coat rack this morning. The Doctor Who fans will appreciate this. I'll let the picture speak for itself. Its not a perfect match, but it's really close.

Dark grey pants and dark, dusty blue top, along with a pair of black Clark's that had a small heel. It was a good thing for the wake; I'll definitely wear the outfit again. Bought the clothes at Kohls for about 50 bucks (they were having a sale) and the shoes at Fabulous Footwear, also for around 50 bucks (59, I think).

The shoes were very comfy, the perfect thing for my seriously screwed up feet.

The proxy service was a success, so I'm getting an ultra light down jacket as well to satisfy my inner 1970s space man:
