It would have been the same story we saw in Minority Report, but instead of being set in Washington, DC, it would have been set on Mars, and Quaid would have filled the Anderton role.

I love the Terminator franchise, I definitely want T5. Besides, we can't leave Salvation as the latest terminator film, that was bull crap.

I love both Total Recall films, the original being the best. But I think after a reboot and the like 20-30 years between the films, a sequel would be dumb. Maybe a sequel of the reboot.

I just have to say that Minority Report is a very good movie.

I'm afraid I'll be filling in the "strongly disagree" circle on that one. I'd rather watch my own autopsy than that tosh again.

I dislike any film that reveals the plot to the audience via a character then kills him off, then ten minutes later explains the entire plot to the audience again through Tom Cruise…talk talk about a sledgehammer!

Well it’s a new name at least, though I wonder if he’s being mentioned because he was linked when DT left and now they’re just digging up any old name?

Actually surprised he hasn’t been mentioned before. Fits the mould of an older Doctor without being that old, quirky looking, an experienced actor yet not a big name…would make more sense than a lot of the names being bandied about.

David Harewood is the latest name put forward. At this rate the trick soon will be to come up with a name that hasn't been suggested!

Do you think there's a random Doctor selector soemwhere?

Nobody's suggested Paul Kaye this time around yet!;)

Paul Kaye snogged Bonnie Langford on Hotel Babylon.

    Retroactivity is cool.

They should get that Ian McShane in to play him like he played Lovejoy.

Kevin Bacon has been telling people that it's him.

    No really, he has.

(He's joking, obviously but wait for it to turn up in The Sun anyway.)

A couple of years ago I'd have been unable to think of worse casting than the former Dennis Pennis. But after his turn as Thoros of Myr in Game Of Thrones, I'd be OK with it.

Lonemagpie, I saw him do a Waking the Dead a few years ago and could harly believe it was the same guy. Still I'd never shake the feeling that he was about to say "Oi Davros, do you have a potty in there?" or something...

tmosler, accoring to this week's Radio Times it won't be announced before late August/early September, though I imagine they might bring that forward if they think they're going to be gazzumped.

Anyone else feel like Matt Smith hardly had a go? I think it's this split season thing, they don't feel like much more of a season than Tennant's specials year did.

It felt fleeting, but he had a complete arc and had time to change his interpretation over time. I don't think anything was left to be done with 11 and Smith, but do hope the next Doctor is more of a continuation than a major switch in direction, as we just started to have some episodes with a more elderly mannered Doctor this series, it would be a terrible shame to abort it.

Yeah, he's actually had three full seasons, but the way the episodes were scattered around really didn't make it seem like it. I feel like he just got here!

Yea Matt Smith shows 44 episodes, and Tennant shows 49 on IMDB (Doesn't include Anniv or Christmas Special), so Matt Smith will end his run, with only 3 episodes in his straight run less than Tennant, but, yea, it feels like much less.
