The new Freedom Tower / Trade Center looks so awe-inspiring. Hope I get to see it in person one day.

    Cool card, tsq!

Thanks for the compliment! And yeah, it'd be cool to do a joint photo shoot one of these days. I've done that on just a couple of occasions before and it's always a blast getting to find out how others see photo opportunities. And since the weather is bound to get warmer at some point (it has to, right?), that'd be the perfect opportunity for it.

It really is quite a sight to behold. Which I find quite interesting. The building doesn't have a particularly striking silhouette or design (the initial designs were much more distinctive, for example). But seeing the blue sky and clouds reflected in its simple-yet-elegant shape is ... as you say, awe-inspiring.

We had a beautiful spring day here. It was warm (didn't need a coat in the middle of the day) and sunny. What a difference from the horrible wet, windy winter we've had. My husband and I took advantage of the weather and strolled through Rougemont Gardens and Northernhay Gardens in the city centre. The Gardens are divided by some of the remains of the city wall, the foundations of which date to Roman times when the city was called Isca. The keep on the wall belongs to the second incarnation of Rougemont Castle, built in the 11th century after the first version of the castle was destroyed by the Danes in 1003. Apparently William the Conquerer selected the location of Rougemont for a larger and stronger castle than Exeter had ever had before. I love living in a city with so much history.

I see no elderberries. We asked for elderberries.

    Gorgeous, BTW!

Someone had a birthday party today.

We tried to get a picture of her in her party dress but she wasn't really into it.

And for some reason she wanted to set up a lemonade stand at home a few weeks ago. She set the price.

Tell me about it. My daughter turned 17 at the beginning of the month and my older son turns 16 this Thursday. I'd fall on the floor and hyperventilate but I'd probably not be able to get up again on my own.

Your daughter is totally adorable, what did she make like $70 on the lemonade? Did you daughter have a Mexican birthday party? I see the traditional dress and the sombrero cookies. Did she choose this? What's the story, just wondering. My son Aaron will be 4 in May, he keeps jumping from theme to theme for his birthday party. We're gonna have to get him locked down soon.
