Another simple trailer which they could run in front of one of Disney's movies in 2013. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tzfUJSGPqdQ
No. That has never been the truth. Or for some reason Roger Moore's Bond was mourning the death of George Lazenby's Bond's wife. And Timothy Dalton's Bond hadn't gotten over the death of the same woman, whom he never met. All of the actors have been playing the same character. Your theory is a fan theory. But, you are right, Casino Royale was a soft reboot. As someone else said. It does.
So many crazy fan theories related to Bond. Clearly the truth is that Bond (and Felix Leiter) is a Time Lord. It all makes sense. Casino Royale is the first incarnation of Bond, and, at some point in the future (perhaps after fighting in the Time War?), he travels back in time and regenerates into Sean Connery.
It is a completely useless endeavor to try and make sense of Bond continuity. You just have to go with it.
I've actually proposed that idea a couple of times (although I forgot about Felix). It will never happen, but it would make a nice "Wold Newton" kind of thing.
Can't wait to see it; just haven't had the time yet. One thing that I would love the franchise to do, though, is an actual hard reboot. Set a new series up as period pieces, set in the fifties and sixties like the novels.
