Welcome to The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations Game!

It’s that time again kids. On Sunday, September 21 the Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced and I want to know what your Award predictions are! And since we have done this before, I will quickly explain. All you have to do is choose from the nomination list provided below and then post your choices. (It’s best to just quote this post and then edit.) Let’s see who can get the most correct! And if you don’t know which to choose just guess. The more answers you give the better the chance you have at winning.

Entries will be taken until 7pm EST on the 21st. After the telecast, I will announce the winner! Good luck and happy guessing.

I also wanted to remind all you television lovers that I will be starting the Primetime Emmy Award Discussion Thread on Friday, September 19. Be sure to stop by and let us know what you think of the hosts, the nominations and of course the winners.

(And because this thread can get pretty crowded with entries I have to ask that you hold off discussing the show until the discussion thread is posted. Unfortunately the extra posts make it difficult to grade the winners. But if you would like for me to post the discussion thread earlier, please feel free to PM me. Thanks!)

For more information about the nominations and the awards please visit the Official Website for The Primetime Emmy Awards.

    Award Nominations
Please note: This is an edited nomination list. Due to the large number of categories and my limited sanity, I have removed some of the superfluous information from the nominations. I have also removed the producer and writer lists from several categories. This was done to make voting and grading easier. For a complete list of nominations please visit the Official Website.

I suck at this game, so I'll vote for the ones I want to see win! :D

    Outstanding Comedy Series
    Entourage • HBO

People said they didn't like this season because of the Medellin plotline? I thought it was great. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia deserved a nomination as well.

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series
Tina Fey as Liz Lemon • 30 Rock

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series
Lee Pace as Ned • Pushing Daisies

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series
Kristin Chenoweth as Olive Snook • Pushing Daisies

Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series
Kevin Dillon as Johnny Drama • Entourage

...because I'm sick of Piven winning all the time.

Outstanding Directing For A Comedy Series
Pushing Daisies • Pie-Lette • Barry Sonnenfeld, Director

Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series
Pushing Daisies • Pie-Lette • Bryan Fuller, Written By

    Outstanding Drama Series
    Dexter • Showtime

Ay caramba, this one's impossible - both Lost and Dexter had phenomenal seasons, just about the best I've ever seen for any TV shows. I'll go with Dexter since Lost already won once, even tho I think this season is better than the season Lost won for.

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series
Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan • Dexter

Yeah Hamm will win, but dammit Hall deserves it! There is no justice in the universe!!!! :klingon: I'm tempted to break out the power tools.

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series
Glenn Close as Patty Hewes • Damages

One of the few instances where I agree with the option likely to win.

Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series
Michael Emerson as Ben • Lost

The guys from Damages were also very good, but Emerson owns this catetory like Hall and Close own theirs. Slattery's nomination is odd - I would have gone for Vincent Kartheiser instead.

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series

No idea. Why weren't the ladies of Mad Men and Big Love nominated? Those two shows alone could have provided five worthy nominees.

Outstanding Directing For A Drama Series
Mad Men • Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (Pilot) • Alan Taylor, Director

The "style" categories like direction, costume design, etc are where Mad Men clearly dominates. Dexter wins for music, tho.

Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series
Mad Men • The Wheel • Matthew Weiner, Written By; Robin Veith, Written By

Where the frak were Resistence is Futile from Dexter and The Constant, The Shape of Things to Come, and There's No Place Like Home from Lost?

    Outstanding Made For Television Movie
    Recount • HBO

    Outstanding Miniseries
    John Adams • HBO

What a weird category. A couple lousy sci fi miniseries - Razzies nominations would be more appropriate - and Cranford, which was so saccharine and cutesy-poo I couldn't even get thru it. And I'm a girl! :rommie:

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie
Laura Linney as Abigail Adams • John Adams

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie
Paul Giamatti as John Adams • John Adams

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie
Laura Dern as Katherine Harris • Recount

Scary-funny performance, everyone should see Recount for Dern alone.

Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie
David Morse as George Washington • John Adams

Very tough category. All the guys from John Adams were great and Leary, too.

Outstanding Directing For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special
John Adams • HBO • Tom Hooper, Director

I thought The Company was nominated last year? Too bad it's been so long, it's been forgotten.

Outstanding Writing For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special
John Adams • Kirk Ellis, Written By

Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Series
The Colbert Report • Comedy Central

As a card-carrying member of the Colbert Nation, I can do no less.

Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Special
    ???

Outstanding Individual Performance In A Variety Or Music Program
Stephen Colbert, Host • The Colbert Report

Outstanding Directing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy
The Colbert Report • #4051 • Comedy Central • Jim Hoskinson, Director

Outstanding Writing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Program
The Colbert Report • Comedy Central

    Straight Colbert ticket.

    Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
    Project Runway • Bravo

I hate reality TV, but I have to admit, it's not a bad thing when a show promotes creativity of any sort, even if it's making costumes for 300-pound drag queens.

Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality - Competition Program
Ugh, I refuse to even think about the nominees. Kill them all, chop them up, dump them in the ocean and give their trophy to Michael C. Hall.

Interesting article about the significance of Mad Men winning (if it does).

Of course, they could achieve the same goal with critically lauded Dexter - a mere 2M viewers. ;)

I'm willing to split the difference. Mad Men gets Best Drama, Michael C. Hall gets Best Dramatic Actor. :bolian:
