Pomfritt?? Seriously?? They had a character named "Mr. French Fry"??!!

My exposure to Dobie was limited. I'm not sure I've seen it at all since "Bring Me The Head of Dobie Gillis" ... which I turned off before it was over — fortunately.

Ah, I know the original well. From memory:
(Edit: So much for memory. It's "sat alone in a room.")

Yes, Silvercrest, Mr. French Fry. There's also another teacher named Mr. Millfloss, which I assume is a reference to George Eliot.

I'm almost finished with first watch of the Dobie Gillis disks, and have spotted more future Trek guests. I didn't write any of them down, so some of this is from memory.

More episodes with Yvonne Craig. Stanley Adams (Cyrano Jones), John Abbott (Ayelbourne), Roy Jenson (Cloud William), John Fiedler (Mr. Hengist) in multiple episodes, Marianna Hill (Helen Noel), Julie Parrish (Miss Piper), Sherry Jackson (Andrea), David Frankham (Larry Marvick), Barry Russo (Commodore Wesley, Giotto), Gary Walberg (Commander Hansen), Mickey Morton (big guy in "Gamesters"), and Peter Brocco (Claymare).

I don't think the 4th and final season is out yet, but Sally Kellerman and others are in that one. Also spotted a lot of non-Trek actors, like Don Knotts, Herbert Anderson, Michele Lee, Roy Roberts, Mel Blanc, and others.

I thought the complete series of DOBIE was already out?

    This week's finds.

Sarah Marshall (The Deadly Years) as a black widow type on the F-Troop episode "Wrongo Star and the Lady in Black"...

And the ever lovely Susan Oliver in the very last episode of The Invaders:

Just watched a Gunsmoke with Gary Lockwood as leader of an outlaw gang. He was credited first as "special guest," before Richard Jaeckel and Jim Davis, with "And John Anderson" last.

It is, although the season four breakout hasn't been released yet.

Some dope just couldn't fit all four seasons worth of discs in the envelope... I blame Brannon Braga.

Marianna Hill is listed again in the last episode I watched last night, though I haven't determined which of the two girls in the episode is her, she's near bottom on the end credits. Star Trek came along 3-6 years later for most of these people, and the makeup/hair styling is definitely different.

Raymond Bailey, who only a year or two later was Mr. Drysdale on Beverly Hillbillies, has several episodes as dean of S. Peter Pryor Junior College. But he's almost unrecognizable because he's not wearing a toupee and is completely bald on top.

I forgot to mention - also in a small role in that final Invaders episode was Stewart Moss, Joe Tormolen in The naked Time and Hanar in By Any Other Name. Forgot to screencap him.

That looks like it might be the same costume he wore in The Outer Limits: The Sixth Finger, where David McCallum gets a Big Giant Head.

Rickles did do dramatic roles sometimes. He's the local tavern patron giving Burgess Meredith a hard time in Twilight Zone's "Mr. Dingle the Strong".

I keep meaning to post this, but have never got around to this.

In the Brady Bunch episode, "The Click" - Greg tries out for the football team, - kept thinking the coach sounded familiar. He kinda looked familiar too - and since he looked like a young Larry "Frank Burns" Linville, thought it might be him. But nooo - credits came up and it was....Bart LaRue!

Yeah. A better example would have been the film Run Silent, Run Deep but I couldn't think of the title last night.

Regarding Bart La Rue and Brady Bunch, he's credited again as Coach in "The Drummer Boy".

Mannix season 6 (1972), "The Inside Man" has another threefer - Mannix goes undercover in a Klingon crime syndicate, with boss John Colicos at his most subtly threatening:

The operation is being run by G-Man Barry Russo (billed in the titles as J. Duke Russo):
