There's quite a few retailer exclusive versions coming out of both the blu-ray and DVD, which will you buy?

Personally, I'm trying to decide between the 3-disc blu-ray edition with or without the collector pins.

I'm getting the pewter Enterprise from Amazon, and the badges from Best Buy. I might check out the Target Enterprise to see how it looks. I'm giving the movie out to a couple people and keeping the cool stuff.

I'd have loved to get the pewter Enterprise set from Amazon, but $90 was way too steep for me. When you get it let me know. I'm curious as to how well it's made.

I bought a retail exclusive of the DVD when it came out in Australia. You could choose a cover of Spock, Nero or Kirk from the black and white poster. I chose Spock. When I got the cellophane off I discovered it was only a cardboard cover, not even a slip cover, over the regular old dvd. I had paid like 7 more dollars for this.

Wow. Australia just gets the raw end of the deal on everything!

True. I was in complete shock when I realized we got STXII more than 2 weeks ahead of the US. Shock and glee.

None. I'll probably RedBox it, though.

I don't think I'll get it on Tuesday -- I'm gonna try and hold out til Christmas.

    Think I'll make it?

Oh, and as for what version I'll ask for: whatever the best one they've got on DVD is (as I do not have a Blu-Ray player).

No, I was being serious, how many versions are there?

I'm hearing steel box, and mini Enterprise.

Or do you mean blu ray or DVD?

In the U.S. there are versions:

    1) Single Disc DVD version in standard case
    2) Double Disc DVD version in standard case.
    3) Single Disc Blu-ray in standard case.
    4) 3 Disc Blu-ray in standard case.
    5) 3 Disc Blu-ray in Enterprise case.
    6) 3 Disc Blu-ray in steel case.

That's all I can think of, and I may be wrong on one or two of those, but I can't seem to find all the information together.
