It's what popped into my head the second I saw the OP post. My photoshop skills suck though. Oh well.

"They laugh alike, they walk alike, at times they even talk alike. You can lose your mind. When Klingons are two of a kind."

These Klingons are the coolest yet. With all the different versions seen on all the different shows and movies, it creates a more realistic diversity in the species. It's SERENDIPITY people!

We've seen beardless Klingons before -- if nothing else, a lot of the Klingon extras in "Errand of Mercy" were clean-shaven.

Anyway, cultures change over time. We've never seen Klingons from the 2250s depicted onscreen before in either timeline, and this is a timeline that's now had 26 years to diverge from the Prime history. If anything, the ridiculous thing is when the previous shows depicted Klingon wardrobe and hairstyles being exactly the same in different centuries and different timelines. This is actually more plausible.

I agree. Of course one of the reasons we kept seeing the same costumes all the time was do to budget restrictions. The Klingon uniforms Robert Fletcher designed for TMP where refitted for different actors for decades.

The new Klingons remind me of Drac in Enemy MIne

I saw someone on Facebook make that comparison. But I think when we see them better in the actual movie it does not look that similar at all.

This new Klingon has a nose, ears, and does not have extra ridge around the mouth or scaly skin.

He just looks like a hairless Klingon to me. But still a Klingon. The ridge pattern is more like the movies. It's similar to General Chang.

If this is what Klingons always looked like but Roddenberry just didnt have the makeup budget, headcanon accepted.

This looks midway between TOS and TNG and I like it. They refined the look, they didnt change it beyond recognition.

As for the earrings and hair and facial hair:

Styles change. Look at the men's facial hair styles between the 1960s and the 1980s. It didnt stay the same.

First bald Romulans with tattoos, now bald Klingons with piercings ... do I see a pattern here? I'm almost afraid of what's next.

With what we've seen before, I see nothing wrong with JJ's interpretation of Klingons. Creative liberty aside, JJ has stayed true to what defines Klingons in the fans eyes.

Great post which shows that all the varities of Klingons do not actually differ that much.

I think that nuKlingon differs a lot from the others. From TMP onwards all the Klingons were easily recognizable as Klingons, but this one could be just some random alien. Aside from the Klingon logo he's wearing, there is nothing Klingon about him. Even the helmets looked more Klingon!

I actually liked the idea with the helmets ... you could easily tell they were Klingons and the whole topic of redesigning the Klingons had been avoided alltogether. Perfect solution!

What are you talking about? He's just a slight variation on the Klingon design that's been standard since 1979, with a bony forehead plate dominated by a raised central ridge with a repeating pattern of bony knobs. It's not that different from Richard Snell's Klingon designs in the fifth and sixth movies.

I got in a minor debate with someone on Facebook about this last night. He sees this Klingon as being reptilian looking. I do not see it all. Than he admitted he could accept the rest its just eyes that really bother him.

Once again its goes to the human varieties. Maybe its because usually we have seen Klingons with dark eyes. So this seems different to some???

Bald aliens? I wonder what a bald tribble looks like. ;)
