The season finally starts this week! There's not usually many closely matched games this early in the season, but it looks like there are a couple to watch this weekend. The Clemson/Georgia game especially looks to be an entertaining one.

My own alma mater, Georgia Tech, is stuck with games against *three* FCS teams to start the season, one of which is an away game. I think some of that was the result of all the conference upheaval in recent years, and not being able to reschedule very well.

Apparently Penn State is opening their season in Dublin. That's interesting.

How long before Florida fires Muschamp? I say after he loses yet again to his alma mater.

    Cody Kessler's line today:

    20/31, 309 yards, 4 TD (1 rush)

    That's in the first half.

Really happy for Cal today. They went into Northwestern and got a win when no one expected them to. I think I heard that was the first big win in the Sonny Dykes era. Goff looks much improved over last year. Hopefully they can get a few more wins and maybe even have a chance for a bowl (I think they are still doing bowls, they don't have a chance for the playoffs).

Big game for my Trojans today. Not sure if we're at Stanford-level yet, but here's hoping!

Stanford/USC is always fun. I'm worried Stanford is going to lose considering USC is and always will be a tough team.

Two great games in the Pac-12 today though. Stanford/USC and then Oregon/Michigan St. tonight. Isn't it a little early for these great match ups? Not that that's a bad thing, mind you. :)

Good win by USC but Stanford beat themselves. So many penalties, bad play calling, and just sloppy play all game long. USC does look to be back to the Reggie Bush levels though, which is scary for the rest of the Pac-12, except maybe Oregon. USC/Oregon is going to be a hell of a game.

    Wow!

That was ugly. I agree, I'm not sure USC won as much as Stanford lost. Some pretty curious decisions by Stanford there, but I'm not going to complain. Buck Allen was on fire, and our defense really played well.

    A 53 yard FG?? Sweet!

That sack/fumble at the end was a thing of beauty. I'm sure the neighbors heard me yelling.

    Fight On!!

PS: I'm thinking that Stanford is really looking forward to seeing Andre Heidari graduate...

WTF, GT?!? Were you TRYING to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? After leading 35-10 at the half, they very nearly LOSE to Georgia Southern, and only won by finally scoring in the second half with 23 seconds to go! I've been a bit lukewarm on Coach Johnson before, but despite GT now being a very shaky 3-0, he needs to go. I seriously doubt the rest of this season will go very well at all.

He is indeed. And so are his followers who going around harassing those that put it on twitter. It's a shame that such phenomenal athletes are surrounded by enablers who encourage and support all their stupid activities.
