Because nerds like him and the Okudas ruined Trek with their fascination over trivial geeky things!

I kid, I think spotting stuff like this is fun and I don't think it would hurt to help CBS in pointing out things that could be fixed such as the reflection of Riker and Worf's heads being intact after beaming away.

There are little touches here and there that remained intact thanks to the Okudas. The shadow on the Enterprise in EAF when the alien passes over is one of them. I'm very thankful that passionate people are overseeing the final product from start to finish (except for a hiccup here and there).

Thank you. The sixth observation clearly shows MVs inferior work compared to the CBS-D treatment. Especially the DNR is quite annoying in that scene. Why the hell do they always have to mess around with these filters? Can't they just do it like CBS-D?

But if they just replaced whatever was there before with the Erstwhile CGI model they made for "The Outrageous Okona," then the original ship still remains unidentified.

That's the point though, they didn't just replace the model with a CG recreation of another model, they're using the original film negatives. The original episode used this same physical model.

Well, I'm just happy we can identify the Arcos in some way, no matter whether the ship was originally supposed to be a re-use of the Erstwhile or not.

No, in Bernd's essay about the reuses of the Batris, he states that the CGI Erstwhile was used to represent the Arcos. The planet is newly created with CGI too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we can identify it now too. It's just that it doesn't solve the question of what they originally used. I always thought it was stock footage of the Husnock ship exploding over Delta Rana, since it was a reuse of the same planet.

Ah, I didn't read the "essay," just the observations page. IMO that doesn't preclude the possibility that the original used the Okana ship, especially since the team working on this project has access to the original notes used during production.

The episode order is wrong on the observations index page. "Family" keeps being shifted down the list.

When writing the articles, I follow production order. That way, I can see for which episode a prop/set/make-up was originally created and then re-used in later (produced) episodes.
