Oh, man, there were a couple of time on Bones where I thought we'd gone to commercial. Here's a closeup of the logo on the car! Here's a closeup of the nav system and how it works! Did you know the car can park itself? Watch this!

    Oy.

Has everyone forgotten the Bones episode where the Squints waited in line the whole episode to see Avatar? :D

I'm sure that's why the movie was so successful. :rommie:

Going back a ways, there was a bit on ALIAS where Sydney's father extolled the virtures of his new Prius, explaining that the noise-free hybrid engine was ideal for surveillance . . . .

And I still remember the time on SMALLVILLE when poor Alison Mack had to deliver a line along the lines of "Accu-View contact lenses save the day again!"

I think it was "Accu-View to the rescue"

I wonder if Big Bang Theory gets kickbacks whenever they plug a comic.

Well, Big Bang Theory is produced by Warner Bros., which also owns DC Comics so it's more like corporate synergy.

You'll note that most of the comics and action figures and tee-shirts on display in the show feature DC characters, not Marvel . . . ..

It seems more organic and seamless, though. Compared to some of the clumsy product placement in SyFy shows...The Dead Zone got really bad toward the end.

Yeah, we expect the characters on Big Bang to talk about comics. If it was a show about mechanics then it would make sense to talk about cars.

I've only seen the first season, but now that you mention it, yeah.

And you remember that the revolving squint they had that week was one of the actors from Avatar?

It seemed more like a personal injoke/favour rather than the suits were conspiring.

Tonight, Episode 4:05 No Pain, No Gain

Pete and Myka investigate a hockey player who seems to be miraculously recovering from his game injuries.

    Hmm....

Wasn't he a regular rotating squint before he was on Avatar?

    Yes, he sure was.

It may have been an in-joke for all I know, but it was still product placement. Hilarious product placement, but still product placement. :rommie:

There was a very awkward example on True Blood last night: A close up of a Campbell's soup bowl rotating in a microwave. :D

the worst product placement was in the Warehouse 13 webseries. the one where they get zapped into an old 50s EC-esq comic.

Who played the crazy woman in this weeks (no pain no gain) episode? She looks extremely familiar.

When I saw Tim Omundson and Kristin, both from Psych, I really wondered... Are these two a couple?

But then they had kaylee and the Doctor from firefly, then they had Jo and Zane from Eureka, so they really do like to pick up sets from their competitors.
