Now I want that to happen and will be seriously disappointed if it doesn't.

Well, back in a June interview, Lin said that it was "time to go further" than the Klingons and Romulans," and it's "been fun to focus on and creating whole new worlds and species."

Still, yes, Elba as any nasty Klingon captain, would have been glorious.

Just having Elba as the villain is already great.

I'm betting on Elba being a new character.

maybe Star Trek Beyond is an homage to TFF and Elba is playing God!

If I can be serious for a minute [/Lance Storm*], maybe they're redoing "Omega Glory"? Crashed Federation ship, Elba's the Captain Tracy-alike who's set up as God of the locals and Kirk and company have to make it right.

*It's okay if you don't get that reference.

A while ago, before Elba was ever cast for this movie, I mused to my girlfriend that I need Elba as a Klingon for my fan-life to be complete. So, please, for the love of God, a Klingon!!!

BTW, more fan musing on my part..... A Klingon crew with Idris Elba, Ron Perlman and Clancy Brown. Elba as Captain, Perlman as weapons officer and Brown as a seasoned old General.

    You're welcome.

VaryI-E.T., "Hollywood Knews: Star Trek Beyond: Belief" August 17, 2015

(SFN) News broke early this morning concerning the much anticipated latest installment of the Galactic Blockbuster, Star Trek Beyond. It had previously and erroneously been reported that Star Chris Pine (Captain James T. Kirk) was being replaced by complete unknown Idris Elba (not a typo). While Chris Pine will not be reprising his role as the intrepid Captain (He recently revealed that he will be appearing in "Star Trek On Ice" with former Captain, William Shatner) neither will Idris or the movie itself be made. JJ Abrams, former Trek Director, in a stunning move, hired the rest of the cast of STB away from Paramount, to appear in his latest effort, Star Wars the Force Awakens, essentially ending production on the new Trek movie. Said Abrams, when asked about the coup, "...well, the Fuckers screwed me good on "Beyond", so I figured this was the best way to respond."

No word on which roles the stars from the defunct Trek movie will play, but sources close to the Star Wars production say Saldana will play a young Leia, before her "Caucasian Conversion" at the hands of the evil traitor, "White JediKnight", and fellow castmate Simon Pegg will play Tom Cruise playing a Young Lando (never mind, just go with it). Said Pegg, "...the Bastard hangs on outside a plane that is talking off; I'll be hanging on to the Millennium Falcon as it goes to Hyperdrive! Scientology, my pasty white bum!!! Let him try to top that!"

Pegg's role and comments coul not be confirmed.

That story can't be true because Leia was born caucasian. It did happen. I watched it happen. I saw it happen. Don't tell me it didn't happen.

Bonus points if Kirk and co. mention how highly respected Elba's character is before finding out he's the bad guy.
