Gonna get some hate for this one, but Far Beyond the Stars. Sure it's message about racism is great but... it's completely out of place in the DS9 story and just felt artificially shoved in there.

    A Time to Stand
    Rocks and Shoals
    Behind the Lines
    Favor the Bold
    Sacrifice of Angels
    The Magnificent Ferengi
    One Little Ship
    In the Pale Moonlight

I'll get rid of One Little Ship. It's a fun episode, but it also introduces the Alpha/Gamma tension amongst the Jem'Hadar, which is then never followed up on.

    A Time to Stand
    Rocks and Shoals
    Behind the Lines
    Favor the Bold
    Sacrifice of Angels
    The Magnificent Ferengi
    In the Pale Moonlight

"Behind the Lines", I simply find the other episodes are stronger, more enjoyable.

    A Time to Stand
    Rocks and Shoals
    Favor the Bold
    Sacrifice of Angels
    The Magnificent Ferengi
    In the Pale Moonlight

The Magnificent Ferengi is great but I have to give the others the nod for their storyline significance.

    A Time to Stand
    Rocks and Shoals
    Favor the Bold
    Sacrifice of Angels
    In the Pale Moonlight

We're down to really hard choices now. I'll cut Favor the Bold as I like the following episode a tad more.

    A Time to Stand
    Rocks and Shoals
    Sacrifice of Angels
    In the Pale Moonlight

Seven beat me to Favor the Bold. In the end it was just foreshadowing and setting up the next one, though it was god. I'll then have to axe A Time to Stand. Great episode, chilling having Dukat give the captain's log, but just pales to the others.

    Rocks and Shoals
    Sacrifice of Angels
    In the Pale Moonlight

"Rocks and Shoals", 3 great episodes and one has to go.

    Sacrifice of Angels
    In the Pale Moonlight

While I can I'll remove Sacrifice of Angels, and at this point it's simply because I love the others more.

    Ah, crap. :p

Well then, the winner is In the Pale Moonlight since I removed SOA.

In the Pale Moonlight to win!

Was there any doubt as to which would win?

Well not really, but it was fun trying to get in at the end. ;)

Well I would've picked Rocks and Shoals to win, but this is a case where the voting panel did get the top 3 right I think. :)

I'm surprised someone didn't nix Pale Moonlight early actually. It's a controversial episode and there's a number of vocal people who think it isn't "Star Trek."

That can be the problem when you get down to the last few episodes. They are all good episodes with sometimes very little to pick between them.

The DS9 game is working out a lot better than TNG did. I'm still shaking my head at Journey's End.

Well I would have had Waltz and Far Beyond The Stars higher up, but I can understand them being polarising.

For the most part yes, but an episode like "Duet" which is generally regarded as the best episode of S1 was knocked out early.

True, but Emissary winning was a good one. Imagine if all the good episodes were gone, and the last episode standing was Move Along Home.

It could have been DSN's wild card entry like TNG's "Journey's End"
