I've just voted for Crusher. However, let me say that I've always appreciated Pulaski's stint on the Enterprise and agree that season one Crusher loses out to Pulaski. Still, as has been said above, Crusher gets better as the series goes on, and the fact that she's more familiar also counts, too (maybe unfortunately so).

Gotta go with Pulaski here. First season Crusher was a terrible Doctor. It seemed like she lost just about every patient who came through the Sickbay doors, and she was always running tests.

Pulaski didn't have the baggage with the captain or the kid, she was a professional who was one hell of a doctor.

When Crusher did come back, and they seemingly forgot Pulaksi was ever there, they pushed the Crusher/Picard romance full tilt, forcing chemistry where there was none. Think Troi and Worf, or Seven and Chakotay.

Without the "hotness" Crusher supposedly had, she would lose.
