So any body else watch tonight's episode? Was it me, or was the continuity announcer high? "First, and only on BBC One" with the BBC 2 logo on screen
Then Jeremy's "No this is not a repeat, you're not watching Dave" :rommie: It's good to have it back.

Top Gear Dog wasn't working well with the studio environment, IIRC. The dog actually lives with Hammond.

Not a bad start - thought the 'backwards leap' stunt was a bit too daft, but the police cars were hilarious.

Top Gear Dog hasn't been seen for the past two seasons, if I'm not mistaken. Did she make a comeback and throw up all over James May?

<--Jealous of you guys who have already seen the new episode.

Depends, sometimes it's up within minutes, some times it's the next day. Usually, within a couple of hours.

Excellent ep, the police cars were top notch, although the tire nearly hitting James and Richard seemed staged, the odds of it coming off and rolling towards them must have been pretty astronomical!

I must say with the way the boys behave i have trouble sometimes working out what was staged and what is real.
I loved the ep where they drove across the USA and got run out of town by the rednecks even though i know it was faked.

Not bad. A little scrappy with lots of short features, but I did enjoy the 1 gallon supercar race.

I wonder if the guests outed the Stig?

You heard him say Its Nigel.. and then they cut to Clarksons reaction as he said Havers, which could easily have been dubbed on after covering up Mansell.

Still I always assumed it was Damon Hill myself.

What was the thing Jeremy "Found on the internet" before he brought up the crash picture?

I don't think Justin Lee Colin's said anything other than Nigel Havers, it didn't cut away from him until after he said Havers.

I've only seen one episode of the show on Youtube. Something about taking three ratty old British autos from the 70's and running them over an obstical course (staying in place on an incline with the parking brake set, or who can drive the farthest with the car filled with water before it leaks out).

Are all the episodes that goofy and fun?

^Mostly, yes. It's not really about the cars.

The show regularly has such challenges. Such as Buy a Porsche for less than £1,500, buy a car for less than £100 etc. The three presenters buy their cars and then put them through a series of challenges - including driving them to the track which at least one of the cars manages to fail.

Then there are the Epic Races which are just brilliant. Clarkson will drive some sort of ridiculously expensive, ultra fast supercar while Hammond and May will travel via public transport (planes, trains, boats, buses etc) in a race from one point to another (usually somewhere in London and to somewhere in mainland Europe or vice versa).

The show is, as you've noticed, based mainly around mucking about.

Great start of the new season, the police car thing was brilliant - although as usual their spectacular failure was rather predictable. :D
