That wasn't so bad, you get the feeling there's a lot more work they have to do on the movie. But hey, I'll take it.

I think it's a teaser trailer. The other one was a special tag trailer, something meant to show that captain america was going to be in another film

Finally, I saw the trailer and it appears this first teaser trailer wasn't too early to hope to see a shot of some Hulk!
It was an adequately good first real look at the movie. It did sound as if the f/x sound at the start where cars are flipping and the street is getting shot up sounded borrowed from TF:DOM but hey maybe those weapons are wholesale readily available by alien races. ;)

I like that Hawkeye's bow seemed to have purple accents to it as well. I wonder what will cause Thor to go after Cap, mind control or some outside force? I don't see a natural reason why Thor would do that. Standard Iron Man visuals but the Stark dialogue as noted was just as good as it's always been.

Eagerly looking forward to the first full on trailer that has more f/x finished with the Kree/Skull(whoever, Hulk along with adding more narrative that the film will follow.

I actually thought maybe they where doing some training , but could easily be mind control or illusion, however, from watching all the previous movies I think the rest of the team including Hulk would be screwed if they had to fight Thor.

    My guess:
One of those two is a Skrull imposter in that scene

I think that was one of the kind of thrilling things about Marvel back in the early to mid-1960s.

Kids who read comics would get into arguments, seriously, about whether Superman could beat Flash in a race, or whether Green Lantern could beat Superman.

It's not like we had the Internet for an outlet, after all.

In any event, such storylines were rarer than hen's teeth in DC Comics - all the heroes were too busy being presented with the keys to their respective cities or congratulating one another on their excellent teamwork to really get pissed off with each other.

But Marvel - Marvel was a never-ending grudge match, just what a kid wanted. You could no sooner say "I'll bet the Hulk could smash the Thing into outer space" before the two of them would go at it in the comics...three times.

I wonder who will get to shout the famous battle cry/call-to-action - "Avengers Assemble!"

It better be Cap...my own personal guess is that we'll have to wait until the final act of the film to hear it uttered. I think Joss as a fellow comic book fan understands that this is something all of us would want to hear in the movie and will be disappointed if we don't get it. I'm guessing the bulk of this movie's plot will be Captain America assuming or accepting leadership of this team as he accepts what has happened to him. The crisis will go a long way to make this happen as he sees that he is still needed and wanted in the world.

I liked RDJ's response to the what are you without the suit argument. I think it looks OK so far and you got to hand it to them for pulling it off. Growing up reading these books such a movie would have been inconceivable and yet here it is.

I would have had Tony counter Cap's question with "Hey old man, my dad helped make you!" Not as great as the playboy line but it connects back with Howard Stark.

It is amazing how people would waste their time with such preposterous questions.

We all know Batman would win in either of those situations.

....If he had enough time to prepare.

No, it's a teaser trailer. At the end of cap was just a bonus feature or another teaser trailers. Teaser trailers do just that, they "tease" the audience that this movie is coming out. Theatrical Trailers tend to be longer and give more plot details and built around a little less action.
