Anyone see this? I just LOVED In Bruges, so I was fairly excited to this, considering it was from the same writer. And, once again, Colin Farrell is the main character, surrounded by madness. This film, although very violent, had some really funny (if dark humor is your thing) moments and great performances. At our theater, the audience was laughing (in that slightly-horrified-but-also-delighted way), but there wasn't much of a crowd. That's too bad, because I thought this was very enjoyable. Christopher Walken is a master of line delivery (his nonchalant response to the henchman with the gun in this trailer is gold). I hope the film does well!
Judging by the single response to the thread, it doesn't like it will do well at all. Too bad. I thought it was a lot of fun. *shrug*
I loved In Bruges too and planned to see this one over the weeked but couldn't muster up the will to actually go. I was middling between "must see" and "rental". Looks like it didn't do so well at the box office. It brought in $4.17 million.
He's still so underrated! His delivery style is just great. Maybe not for all roles, but golden in many. And he can dance!
^Yeah. There was a time when he was a big name along the lines of Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis. Over the years, though...his carreer has frankly slowed to a trickle. Big shame on that. I could think of quite a few films that would've benefitted from his talent. (He'd be great in a Trek film, for one!)
He's wonderful in this film; it's the perfect role for him. He has some really great lines--like the one in my sig.
"Hands up!" "No...?" "But I got a gun!" "I don't care...." "This--doesn't make any sense." "Too bad! "
Woody Harrelson has been a known "psycho" actor since Stone's re-write of a Tarantino Script, NBK....
