I was kind of startled when I saw Sheldon as Data... I totally took him for Spiner somehow. It was a bizarre experience. Chalk him up for the actual NuTrek TNG reboot series?
Haha hadn't seen that one. I guess the episode is to have aired in Sweden. I have however seen the episode with the Spock toy and the transporters several times.
Hyperbole much? If being a nerd means being highly intelligent, having a well paying job and dating an attractive woman, then sign me up!
I'll never understand why this show is so popular. lol I really can't stand it. Give me The IT Crowd any day over this.
Probably because people enjoy it and find it funny. I do, but apparently I'm a self hating nerd or something. IT Crowd is a different type of humor.
I LIKED IT BEFORE IT WAS MAINSTREAM! No, I didn't. I think the show's funny....not always, but most of the times. And I'll never hand in my nerdcard!
I tried to watch it after I read about the Trek references and guest stars, but despite those good points, it just seems like a typical network sitcom to me, and I was never interested enough to watch an entire episode.
It's been doing that lately, and I read a story attributing its sudden surge in success to the TBS reruns. I've started watching it more because of that. And a co-worker who I thought would never like a show like BBT - she's been mentioning it every day for like two weeks now. I wondered why Sheldon dressed up as Data - doesn't he hate Brent Spiner, after he tore up his autographed MISB Wesley Crusher action figure? Or did they make up?
It's becoming quite strange--my parents are in their late-50's and they're becoming huge fans, along with many other people whom I would never have guessed would like the show. I think the gradual additions of the Bernadette and Amy Farrah Fowler characters were intended to attract more mainstream viewers.
