http://untempered-schism-insta.tumb.../so-did-anyone-else-get-their-pre-order-early Oops. Now that person has decided not to reveal anything but what are the odds on getting through the week without someone just sticking up a Torrent for it?
I doubt it. You're talking about a mistake with BBC America's fulfillment service. Who are you going to sack? The person who packed the box in the warehouse? The person who screwed up the data in the database that led to it being sent out early? Moffat may be so angry he's about to Hulk out, but it's unlikely to have any repercussions. This looks like a big mistake that requires an "off with their heads" response, but that's only because we're inside the fandom bubble. This is no worse than Amazon Germany sending out A Dance With Dragons early or one of the Harry Potter novels going on sale early. In the grand scheme of things, a retailer making a mistake isn't very big, and it happens far more often than anyone thinks.
Yes but retailers might be denied future releases if they relase a product for sale early or ship it early.
Breaching the embargo and selling goods before they are released was considered a pretty bloody serious matter when I worked in retail.
It's still the same today. We always recieve an instruction to not to put on sale before a certain date.
This is going to be a silly week. DoctorWhoTV have just shut down their comments and won't reopen them on any topic until next Saturday.
The ironic part is that it appears to have been BBC America's own shop that were responsible for the copies being sent out. *** Oh and the BBC have decided to try bribery to avoid the information beoming widespread. "We understand that a small number of US fans have received in error their DVD edition of Series 7 Part 2 early. We respectfully ask those fans not to divulge information or post content publicly so that fellow fans who have yet to see the episodes do not have their viewing pleasure ruined. If everyone keeps the secrets safe until next Saturday we will release a special new clip featuring material of the Tenth AND Eleventh Doctor!" So it's either a clip they were already planing to release or they know that human nature being what it is they won't have to release anything.
Strictly speaking all the main details were online a month ago* and the world didn't end. *Confirmed as being accurate by the Trailer last night.
They'll just do their usually trick of deleting everything and threatening to ban anyone who talks about things they don't want talked about. It's such a shame that the biggest DW site in the world is run as an Autocracy.
/me waits patiently for the torrent to show up. I reckon theirs a pretty good chance the entire episode will leak. Personally, I reckon the BBC should just cut their losses and screen it now, rather than waiting until Saturday.
