And they appear to be seated in the dirty shuttle we've seen before.

I like these new pictures and as a long time fan and someone who is really supportive of this new movie I am very encouraged.

I also think the idea of a window wish also operates as a view screen is a cool idea and can really emphasize how technology has changed.

I think you make a great point. I have seen the maps on CNN and I have seen keyboards from computers made as touch screens using light. So if they want to make Trek look real and updated they couldn't just redecorate that old bridge it needed to be redesigned. But I think it has been redesigned with similar shapes of the original design.

My first thoughts when I saw the pic of Kirk in the suit was "He looks more like Chekov in this picture. Oh wait, that's Kirk!". Spock looks quite good but a little girly. The viewscreen (or is it viewport now?) looks different from what I imagined. Just the other day I was thinking that it could be nice to have an SG Atlantis style heads-up on the ship, now they do. If you look closely, you can see it says B4.

Oh yeah... We're on to you Abrams!

I've actually been trying to narrow down about a thousand ideas of what to photoshop floating in space behind him.

Love the viewscreen window seeing out onto the ship.

I can think of a few like TOS aliens and Return of the Jedi
(when luke is looking out of the window at the battle of endor and all those ships are flying) I thought of that because of all those glares from the view port. They looked like ships to me

Hmm... I have a black shirt just like this... now I just need that delta...
Anyone else notice that it is a plain delta (no departmental insignia)? Or is it just my eyes?

No problem. I'll just merge this with the other one. Hang on...

    Edit:

I tried zooming in on the image and it looks like just the delta shield. I'm not able to make out any department-type detail.

I was thinking... what if Kirk's black shirt denotes command school - he's not yet earned his commander or captain's stripes but is being groomed for it. He's been out of the academy for a while and is now training to be a first officer or something. The US Navy and the Royal Navy both have schools like that.

It looks cloth too not metal like the others, the outline is seen on the shirt in the other photos too but is the same colour as the shirt, mayb the fabric has photographed in a different colour.

I think being a blank delta re-inforces the notion that it is just an undershirt. It is the same regardless of department.

  17. I think its cool the way those little screen things pop up over the window.

Kirk with an undershirt? Blasphemy! I'm boycotting the movie because of the impossibility of Pine wearing Shatner's strategically ripped fight-tunic!

Everything I've seen I've liked so far. The uniforms, the bridge, Uhura (Zoe, baby!) and the rest. Pine certainly looks very Shatner-like in that Shuttle picture.
