Nice! I can't find any locally, but from what that link I sent before reads, the complete Enterprise-B sets, the Enterprise-E engineering/corridors, airlock and deflector sets, should all be in that book. Cool, that does look like 5'5", so that means that the turbolift carriage is 10'10" in diameter. Regula I transporter room. There was no Yacht in DS9 except for the solar sailer, I believe, based roughly on the shape, that it may in fact be the Captain's Yacht set from Insurrection, the shape is roughly right. But it could have been redressed enough that it makes it hard to tell. That Stage 7 set, I believe is the fire caves and the cardassian central command room, but the corridors are missing.
See, to my eye that fuzzy collection pixels looks like "4' 3"" for a diameter 8'6", which seems more likely to me. So, here's a quick and dirty study of the Turbo lift image. I skewed the image to compensate roughly for the angle of the photograph. The yellow box is the measurement I understand to be in question. I read it as 4' 3" and the (presumably six foot tall) Tuvok on the left is scaled to the assumption of 4' 3". If the measurement is 5" 5" then the little six foot tall Tuvok on the right is more or less correct. The center, tallest six foot tall Tuvok is scaled assuming that the 4' 3" figure is actually meant to extend from the turbolift center to the outer wall rather than the point where the vertical line is. This is the one that looks closest to me. What do you think, sirs? --Alex
Looks about righ with what i've got. I've measured hte turbolift doors as 6'8" roughly (or 6'4" on some TNG doors) based on Jonathan Frakes profile shots, and the doors are roughly 3'-3'4" wide. So that jives with what you're seeing. In my original 3d models, i had the widest point of the turbolifts at an even 10' and it looked about right. But if we revise the radius to 4'3" then 8'6" then i'd say the widest point is roughly 9' or so, possibly 9'5". Which is why 10' would look ok from a distance. height wise, that diagram seemed to say 12'1" as the elevation on the bottom right, but someone would need to double check that for me
^^^ I don't think that's true. I think the overall diameter of 8' 6" is correct. Actors in the set seem to have their shoulders near the bottom of the upper padded area. This is where big Tuvok ends up in my analysis. The larger the diameter, the smaller the people are gonna look. I'm not sure what lower right note you're seeing is, but the note I'm seeing is just a scale note. It says "Elevation/Section @ CL (Centerline) 1/2" - 1' 0" " I don't see anything about 12' 1", where are you seeing that? --Alex
which bit isnt true? the door sizes or the diameter? It's possible they're narrower than 9, but from how i read that diagram, the 4'3" explicitly refers to the narrowest part of the elevator. Yea, and i may have misread the elevation section bit.
^^^ Yeah, I couldn't say without a better look at that print. I think we're reading it right with 4' 3" and you're right about how the dimension seems marked. But, the mid-scale Tuvok in my illustration is correct for that dimension to be 4' 3"... and you can see how small he seems. This why I feel the overall dimension is 4' 3", because the Tuvok scaled to that assumption looks pretty good. So, what's going on? Off the top of my head, there are seversl possibiliries. 1) The line was drawn wrong and it's a draftsman's error. 2) The prints are from an earlier planning stage and were changed, built differently for some reason. 3) We are reading it correctly, but there is some other info on another sheet or not visible on this one at this angle in this low resolution. 4) My angle correction is WAY more off than I think likely. In any case, an 8.5 foot (maybe 9) turbolift seems much more likely than a 10 or 11 foot one. This would also be more in fitting with the lifts from every other version of Trek. Also, when watching the show, the set just doesn't look that big. --Alex
Some very interesting details in these set concepts! I like the circular red ladder, which provides some nice continuity back to the triangular ladders in TOS. And it looks like they were going to update the transporter, changing it into a "Metatransit System" with a "Metafier". Unless that's supposed to be a replacement for the turbolifts?
A lot of the art ascribed to Phase II may have been originally designed for STARSHIP, another GR sf series.
Oh, a few more to keep an eye out on. Voyager Plasma Relay room (Good Sheppard). TV series Jefferies tubes (TNG/DS9/Voyager). I'm searching, not having much luck, they could possibly be bundled somewhere.
Nnnnnnope. It's Kirk's apartment. You can see the cyclorama and model buildings indicated outside the windows (circular wall). It even says KIRK'S APT on the edge at lower right.
BTW, just did some research, with a few minor redresses, the USS Righteous jefferies tube junction (From Star Trek Borg) was the enterprise-e's service junction too (The section where Lily ambushed picard, or where the sickbay staff evacced to. So if anyone can find the STBOrg set blueprints too, that'll help narrow a few things down.
I've just found out that the Phase II shuttle was originally designed for the show Starship, but when that show was scrapped, it was updated for Phase II. When Phase II was replaced with TMP, the shuttle was scrapped. Nice, did you have any joy with that movies sketchbook for the E-E and E-B plans? I'd offer to put more up, but you've pretty much now got everything i have in terms of blueprints. So there's not much more in can offer.
Just got the movie sketchbook this morning - it has concept art and photos, but no blueprints/plans. It is a nice book though. Sure It's worth noting that the Air Tram you have is an Andy Probert concept, but not the design which was actually built.
