Were there religious revivals, xenophobic campaigns, conspiracy theories about... well, just about everything? What did the Vulcans think about their newest contact? They come across a warp capable civilization that was in a post-apocalyptic state with waring factions killing off their own kind. I like the idea of a series that would show how we as a species get past our notorious flaws. Post-apocalyptic shows are popular. Maybe a story with alien zombies could make it an easier pitch to sell?
