io9 reports that Guillermo del Toro is interested in doing an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Fivei with Charlie Kaufman: This is still speculation and all, and considering del Toro's track record with movie productions, it's a little early to get excited about this. But I don't care. I really want this to happen.
Re: Kaufman-scripted, del Toro-directed Slaughterhouse-Five adaptation While I never thought the novel needed a movie adaptation (it's one of my favorite novels, but I never watched the 1972 film), this sounds like a fantastic combination of talents and sensibilities. I hope this works out! However, I think I'd almost prefer a Kaufman-scripted "The Sirens of Titan".
