Hello, Time for another totally self-serving contest where you the contest try to solve a problem I am having. Given the following: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/airportphantom/rotate_zps073ea02c.png You will see that the Hex shapes are not aligned properly. They are perfectly aligned along the Y axis; however, not in the correct position. You will see that each line needs to be moved over an additional 1/2 of the hex for each X. And moved up a few pixels. I'm having one hell of a hard time getting the formula right to do this. Any ideas?
Maybe this will help http://www.bing.com/images/search?q...225F03C0790B8A77E9306778A5C09CF&FORM=IQFRBA#a Problem with hyperbolic paper? There are some patterns that cannot lay flat.
This probably offers as much detail as you'd want on how to do hex grids, including how to calculate their positions for drawing a map.
