I saw this on "Attack of the Show" and thought it was fantastic. Explains the circumstances of how Han dumped Jabba's cargo...has anyone else seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVnMxAZjMsI
It wouldn't be the first time they'd hired fans. Don't Curtis Saxon(Star Wars technical website) and Kevin Rubio (Troops) do some work for them?
After the Clone Wars animated series, the adventures of the famous Corellian Smuggler and his companion Chewie. ==> CLICK HERE : Adventures of Han Solo and Chewbacca (The director's cut, you need 3D glasses ) ==> CLICK HERE : *Han Solo director's cut The project was screened at Celebration V during the 9th annual fan film award. ==> CLICK HERE : 9th Annual Fan Film Awards ================================= Some info on the production crew: The project was shot at the Digital Animation & Visual Effects School at Universal Studios / Orlando - Florida. The school curriculum is divided in 4 blocks: Block 1: Modeling (Lightwave and Z-brush) Block 2 : Animation and Motion Capture (Lightwave and Motion Builder) Block 3 : Visual Effects and Compositing (After Fx / Fusion / Boujou) Block 4: Short Film Project (Lightwave /Photoshop / Nuke) The block 4 project is usually a short film, it can be either Live action or animated. Some of the previous students worked on projects such as Batman lego and Star Trek : Guest starring Adam West (Batman), Mark Hamill (Joker) and George Takei (Sulu) I was lucky that our project was a Star Wars one, being a huge fan of the saga myself. 2 blocks ago we had Director Aristomenis Tsirbas who came to our facilities to work on his project : Anthro. I volunteered to work on it and had losts of fun. ==> CLICK HERE TO SEE: A N T H R O Thanks for the great comments on the Solo Adventures !! Where can I find the G4 video?
That was fun. George Lucas take note. That's what Star Wars should be like. I'd rather watch more of that than any of the prequels or clone wars.
SOLO ADVENTURES STILL WAITING FOR GEORGE !! Thanks buddy, it is our wish too that Lucas would launch a series based on characters of the classic trilogy and hey maybe we could work on it too Did you like A n t h r o as well?
I was impressed with the actor doing Solo's voice. Until I saw the end credits, I'd convinced myself that they'd actually gotten Harrison Ford to do it.
solo voice Yup, the actor's name is John Armstrong, he does the voice of Han Solo and Indiana Jones for the Lucasart Games. The Robot voice is actually one of our classmate Corey Smith
You can see the actual version of the Solo Adventures that G4 played yesterday on the Directors Vimeo site. http://vimeo.com/14815990
Re: SOLO ADVENTURES STILL WAITING FOR GEORGE !! Technically, it looks very proficient even if the physics is a bit iffy. However, for me, it suffers from having no recognizable context, although the creature's antics remind me somewhat of what little I've seen in previews of the critter in Splice.
Totally agreed. No politics or convoluted storytelling or endless war strategizing. Just a fun little adventure with some witty dialogue and cool characters. That's all I really want. Hell, I can't think of a better fit for animation than the adventures of Han, Luke, and Leia after ANH. Their dynamic in the first movie was so perfect it's just DYING to be revisited someday.
What do you guys think of Han's face? It's so outrageously distorted, yet I think it really works well.
It's no more "outrageous" than the Supermarionation-style caricatures of The Clone Wars. I didn't have a problem with the character design style here. I had more of a problem with the 3D, since I have poor vision in my left eye and it doesn't really work for me. 3D is just a gimmick that gets too much in the way these days.
He might have looked a little too much like a Han caricature, and the expressions and mouth movements were probably a bit too exaggerated, but it's nothing I couldn't live with.
Re: SOLO ADVENTURES STILL WAITING FOR GEORGE !! When we worked on it Splice didn't come out yet. But yeah, now that you mention it, Splice looks like Anthro's wife It depends on how much expression and exageration the director wants for the characters : Like Jar jar Binks To me it's closer to Thunderbirds
