I'm assuming that you are referring to checkpoints; "Checkpoint... Done" is not saying the game is permanently saved, it's saying a checkpoint has been created. "Checkpoint" does not equal "game saved", at least not in this game. The game automatically keeps track of level completions, regardless of whether you save the game yourself or not. That there happens to be a checkpoint at the beginning of each level has nothing to do with it. Yep, unfortunately.
Well I now I know I'll finish a stage when I get an Achievement. Just played Level 3 and the first time against the Prometheans. I like them! It's nice to get a different enemy set. I like that the knights can teleport and have healing flyers. I like the dogs you can explode with a single shot to their glowing face.
Received the game (limited edition) on Christmas Day and finished it on Legendary (co-op of course) 11 hours later. Love it to bits! Worth the wait! I love the Prometheans, I love the story, I love the Infinity War Games and Episodes. I had a blast when I found out there was an old Halo 3 map in BTB (Valhalla --> Ragnarok) O M F G!!! I tried to play Spartan Ops on Legendary on my own, uh let do that again later, m'kay? Anyways, love the game and can't wait to see what's next, especially the episodes with Dr C. Halsey...
Just beat Halo 4! Man, it was so exciting finally having a new proper Halo game to play. ODST and Reach were just not the same thing. The flying section of the final stage was insanely difficult. We died a million goddamn times. We couldn't see well in the split screen to determine obstacles, and when one of us died, it shook the screen of the other, causing them to crash. Ugh! Spoiler: ending That was really sad with Cortana dying, though. They did an excellent job with the story and cut scenes, there was some real acting going on with Master Chief, just with his posture. I guess they'll just give him a Cortana clone next game, like she mentioned. Are we supposed to assume the Daidac survived? When they showed Earth being hit by the beam I thought it was going to convert the humans into Prometheans, so that the opening of Halo 5 would be Master Chief fighting newly spawned Prometheans on Earth. Oh well.
Spoiler: ending I assume the Didact survived. I can't imagine them building him up in Greg Bear's prequel trilogy just to off him in the first game of the 4/5/6 trilogy. Especially since we got his voiceover over the epilogue cutscene!
Watch the episodes in Spartan Ops, Mr Light. It takes place on Requiem 6 months after the events of Halo 4.
Tentative schedule for new Spartan Ops episodes, playlists, and specializations: The Halo Bulletin Also, some hinting at what we'll be getting next month: FFA, finally!
I beat Halo 4's campaign a couple days ago. Am I the only one that thinks the writing and story was really weak? During the cut scenes I felt embarrassed playing the game. The gameplay is really fun and I like the physics of it, but Jesus Christ could they not afford better voice actors and writing staff?
