Mine retuned 10 minutes before it started.

My neighbor is on his dect phone, therefore I don't get to watch digital TV. Its really annoying, but refuse to pay for satellite Telly.

Not impressed with what little I've seen so far though.

I thought it was great, there was more funny in the first 2 minutes than the entirety of BTE.

It hit its stride immediately, I can't wait for next week!

I loved the "it's slower than the speed of dark" line.

I thought it was good. Best line, personally, was Rimmer's "No, we just washed him down and gave him a hat"

Preview for the next episode looked good too.

Really enjoyed it. Felt kind of relieved, actually. I think my favourite moment was the Rimmer / Cat one ("Is he Swedish?").

    That was properly excellent.

    No skutters though Bob.

As good as any past episode, better than some.

Red Dwarf was great! Felt like... season 5 or 6 I guess, but definitely real Red Dwarf and nothing like that Back To Earth shit. Hell, it was better than anything from season 7 or 8, let alone Back To Earth. Strange to see that Craig Charles appears to have inherited Captain Kirk's movie-era toupee though...

Mention of Skutters though. Thought there was moments of trying to hard, some proper laughs there though, too, as well as some sniggers and chortles. Those were DS9 uniforms weren't they?

Pretty close to the DS9 uniform, I liked the cats inverted version.

I know what you mean by trying too hard from time to time but overall it was funny, I found myself laughing affair bit.

I hope we get a mention of Holly at some point.

Judging by the "next time" trailer, I suspect we'll get a mention next week

    Fan-smegging-tastic!

I happened to wander past the premiere screening last night in Leicester. Got to meet the cast (minus Danny) and Naylor on their red carpet area. Craig Charles did a short interview for the fan club right next to me and I caught a few snippets of whay's coming up in this series. The interesting bit - apparently there is an actual mention somewhere of the s8 cliffhanger! I thought it was supposed to be tonight, but apparently it's later on....

Great guy too, Craig Charles. Happy to do photos, and even threw out some references to Takeshi's Castle when someone mentioned it.

I enjoyed the hell out of it. No, really. I was worried when *every* single trailer for this kept showing the same 60 seconds, but this was genuinely funny in a stupid way, but then RD was always funny in a stupid way. :P

You're right, for some reason I wasn't thinking it was so soon.

Anyway, for those who aren't able to watch it yet, here's the new opening to whet your appetites:

I'm just wondering if all the Rimmers' lied about their success?

Took me a while to warm up to it...

Are they going to have Crawford in the background of every episode just stirring drinks?
