Ok, Yasiel Puig is actually starting to piss me off. I refuse to think that he's going to stay above 400 for the remainder of the season but today he's gone like 4-5. Also I'm playing against someone who has Puig in Fantasy and I'm getting absolutely creamed. If he beats Ted Williams' record for going 400 on the season, I'm not sure what to think.

Rookie hype. We'll see how he does the rest of the season.

It's not like he's even been playing the whole season in the bigs. Almost every rookie who comes charging out the gates strong goes through a period where all the pitchers adjust to him and he has to readjust. As much hype as Puig is getting lately, he'll probably go through his sooner rather than later.

If he's still batting 400 in September I might get excited about the record, until then... nah.

The Cubs trade Marmol to L.A. & Scott Feldman to Baltimore. Not so much for great prospects, but it gives them more "bonus pool" money.

Well I'm sorry to see Feldman go, though that was probably a given being how well he was pitching and he's a free agent next year.

More rebuilding stuff really. I wonder who will be next for us to go?

    Garza and Gregg, most likely.

Homer Bailey just threw another no-hitter.

Apparently the Braves have interest in Gregg. They have also put a feeler out on Joba Chamberlain for some reason.

I just watched the game, I love to watch games the next morning on my iPad. He had all the things to make a no hitter possible, he had excellent command, got some great defensive plays and luck was on his side. As to the luck part, the Fielders Choice in the seventh inning was the key. If the player on second stays put, without Bailey covering first, that's a hit. In fact in my opinion, it still should be a hit. Without Bailey covering, they wouldn't have gotten him anyway.

Funny aside to this, after the game he refused to be interviewed by the Reds radio station, causing the play by play guy, the crankyMarty Brennaman, to throw a tantrum and the stations promos for it to only mention the catcher

Joba is someone who the 2010 Braves would have picked up. Surely not now.

I don't know why they are interested either. The Yankees have their eye on Terdoslavitch who we just called up. I don't think the bullpen is all that bad. Joba isn't that much of an upgrade.

One cannot describe tonight's Mets/Brewers game without using the word 'cluster.'

One cannot describe Angel Hernandez's strike-zone without using the word cluster.

Well done. Seriously, Hernandez needs to go. Between him, Joe West, CB Bucknor, and Dan Iasognia, baseball is in a world of trouble until they do something about their umpires. These people aren't held accountable for anything, even when it's clear they instigated a situation by screaming at a player or coach, or merely by missing an obvious call.

Sran are you talking about the Phillies/Braves game where Laird and Gonzalez got tossed? Even the Phillies broadcasters were getting mad at the zone they were giving Lee.

I am. Hernandez was an absolute joke behind the plate. Chipper Jones spent most of the evening posting on his Twitter account because he was so put off by it.
