    I don't.

Isn't 'eugenics' a bit of an outdated concept?

The whole reason they renamed them "Augments" was probably to prevent DC comics getting grumpy over use of "Supermen."

They used Archer and beagle from ENT. Their word for genetically-enhanced humans is as good as any, and it has the virtue of being unique to Trek, AFAIK.

There was a time, back in the '90s, I think, when I considered the possibility of "Augmen" (as in "augmented" plus "-men") as a name for a group of genetically enhanced superhumans in an SF or comic-book context. I gave up on it because I realized it was a pretty ugly and awkward word. (And what would the singular have been? An Augman? And what about Augwomen? It wasn't a very good wordplay because it only worked in one possible form of the word.) But "Augments" actually works pretty well, and I like it partly because of its similarity to (and improvement on) one of my ideas.

It's also a buzz word. Augmented Reality anyone?

Another thing that came to mind in going over the issue was: if "April's Enterprise" was decommissioned 2 years before and April has been presumed dead for 20 years, could Pike have been Captain of that Enterprise as well?

In thinking about it, Pike, Spock and crew could have gone to Rigel and Talos IV already in this universe as well!

It could have been all Marcus.
Or first Marcus and then Pike for a few years.

Issue #3 out today! Some interesting reveals:

    • Mudd is the daughter of a "disreputable businessman" -- Harcourt Fenton Mudd, no doubt (though he is not named, April clearly knows him and understands his love of money)
    • April is in a proxy war with the Klingons, who are supplying the opposite side with weapons (rehashing "A Private Little War" plot)
    • April takes over Kirk's Enterprise using a sleeper program he inserted in the old Enterprise
    • Last frame has April saying "It's good to be back in the chair!", looking suspiciously like Harrison does in the scene where he's sitting "in the chair"
So, we'll likely see the old Enterprise in the movie. And clearly April is involved, and has it in for the Klingons... just as does Harrison.

So all this happens in the 5 page preview? I thought issue #3 was not suppose to be in stores until next week or the week after.

Can you please post the link.

If it is to be published every four weeks, it should be released next week.

Part 2 was published February 13th, so Part 3 should have been out yesterday. And I'm sure I read something about a March 13th release date earlier.

It's not available via the Star Trek Comics app. The only thing showing available under the 3/13 date is Volume 2 of the Dr. Who/TNG crossover.

IDW's extended forecast on Comic List says Countdwon to Darkness #3's release date is "TBD." You'll have to scroll down pretty far to see.

EDIT: But their list for March 20th does have it listed.

Since I read all 28 pages last night, I'm pretty sure it was released yesterday and not the 20th.

But every other comic website and Trek site is saying March 20th, and you seem to be the only person in this thread who has read it. How'd you luck out?
