X(10) of Swords is just an X-Men event, so it's pretty easy to avoid if you don't feel like another event. Pretty much all of the Dawn of X series have been set up for it, so I don't think it's really interrupting things the way a lot of past events did.

Glad to hear it. I'll catch up on a few other titles, then dive in.

I just (eventually) finished Iron Man 2020 and tie ins. It really was worse than I could have imagined.

    Really, really, very bad.

I abandoned Iron Man 2020 after two or so issues. The new Iron Man #1 I found very appealing, though; it feels like a soft reboot, pretty much ignoring recent storylines and ploughing its own furrow. I like the general aesthetic of the new armour, too.

Hoopla has been getting the Dawn of X collection as they are coming out, so once I'm done with Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men, I'm planning on jumping into it. What I've been hearing about it sounds very interesting.

When did Staten Island get taken over by monsters ?

Just wandered into a Deadpool run and it had already happened.

Possibly Monsters Unlimited. What year was the comic?

The Deadpool's the 2019 run, still ongoing.

Currently reading the X Men and related leading up to X of Swords.

I'm enjoying much of it except for Excalibur, which is awful. Disjointed writing, rubbish plot, wasting Captain Britain...ick !

X of Swords is going to stem from Excalibur's story isn't it ?

Has Pryde of the X-Men ever been released on DVD or Blu-Ray? Even as just special feature on one of the Animated series DVDs or something, I can't really see it getting a standalone release.

But in better news, I'd completely forgotten X Factor, which I'm now catching up on and really loving the team and the writing, despite not liking Mojo stories.

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
Slott thinks that he redesigned the Fantastic Four forever!?

The cosmic rays that gave them powers in the beginning were not natural. It was a weapon trying to kill the intrepid astronauts. So Reed is happy now, that he didn't botch the math, and turn Ben into the Thing.

Which is the opposite of 30 years ago, when they found Reed's diary, which said said that he weakened the shields to mutate the crew on purpose because science is cool.

    (I'm a year behind)

On an aside I watched a fake trailer for a Charmed movie on youtube where they stole footage from the Fantastic Four movie, because the Doctor Doom actor is also a demon boyfriend on Charmed. They also lifted new material Greys Anatomy because two of the sister witches where stunt cast on Grays Anatomy last year together. Weird.

Wasn't the diary thing something Dr. Doom created to create doubt (I think it was in the X-Men vs. Fantastic Four mini-series)?

    X Of Swords.

A contest of champions. Really ? REALLY ?

Hasn't that been more than done to death yet ? Hell, there's at least one of those in an Avengers spin off every bloody year.

Dire. I expected more from Hickman, I really did.

The whole sword thing in general is stupid, and they really had to stretch the premise. Not to mention how stupid what they did to Brian braddock is (I like Betsy, but Brian should be Captain Britain). I'm not a big fan of Hickman or his X-Men run, he's always been a dollar store Grant Morrison to me, but this X of Swords thing is just kind of boring and feels pointless, outside of getting some backstory for Apocalypse.

When Miles Morales jumped from the Ultimate to the 616 Universe was he aware of the change, or did the post-Secret Wars reset make it so he was always in 616?

He was definitely aware, but they also tried to be as vague as possible with a lot, too, it was a tad confusing at times as I recall.

I'm definitely interested in a Silk book, I liked her other solo stuff, the rest I don't really care about. I'd be interested in Beta Ray Bill, but if its connected to that stupid Venom event then there is no reason for me to try it.
