Who remembers Pete/Hammer and his unhealthy Beverly Crusher obsession? Which then morphed into a love for Stalin, who he referred to as CTAUNH or something?

Hammer / Malleus could be a pleasant-enough debate opponent when he wanted and he and I always managed to get along in spite of some enormous political differences, but man - was he ever dialed into the nutty, often-offensive Stalin worship and defending one of the nastiest and most brutal men in human history, and being an apologist for the oppressive communist system didn't help his arguments.

Nice guy. We exchanged pleasantries. But yeah, a Stalin apologist isn't going to have a legion of devoted fans on the board.

He also had a strange interest in Red Wacker's relationship with his "sexy cousin".

Hammer was also the leader of the brief but inspired St. John Talbot Uprising of 2002.

Was MadBaggins ever confirmed to be a Skinofevil sockpuppet? Because he was pretty much the same character as MajorBarcalow, only without the garbled syntax.

Everybody knew MB was some kind of sockpuppet but as to who's, I have no idea.

Not mine, though. No way am I that creative. :wtf:

I'm still curious about the ”Ed Legs” and Christian wrestling he kept posting about. His stories were idiotic train wrecks but amusing.

IRL he's the best tourist guide for greater LA you can wish for, an awfully nice guy and very good chef. (And he has the cutest giggle! :) )
Admittedly, I am biased: he very likely saved my life. We were standing at a traffic light when behind us a car turned up who's driver apparently slept while speeding. Day realized that he wouldn't break and pulled our car over just in time for the other car to miss us. I don't think I would have reacted that quickly, and I am really fast.

One poster I miss terribly: Freakish American Batboy. He was the gentlest creature, an intelligent poster with a sense of humour. Awfully good at settling disputes, too. He'd have made an excellent Admin, imo.
Last thing I heard was that he married.

What a terrific thread this is, uber nostalgic. Just what I needed after my years in exile. :rommie:

I had forgotten about TheGodThing and Jayson. Good lord. Jayson.

I'm (not really) surprised to see that Cary L. Brown, Captain Robert April, and aridas sofia have hung up their hats, forcibly or otherwise.

Ugh, was I the only one that found Jayson to be annoying and not ... funny?

My feelings about Jayson were mixed, but I liked him quite a bit more than I did TGT.

TGT earned himself a life-time placement on my "Ignore" list, where I usually place people for a short period of time.

Cary and aridas had a tiff over a mesh the former was doing as a favor to the latter. The Ariel shuttlecarrier, I think it was. Cary had some nice concepts and it was a shame to see him go.

MadBaggins was definitely not Skin. I don't think Skin's posted here in over a decade.
