Oh, it's not impossible. Just more difficult than the hulk films.

I can't see Angie Harmon as She Hulk. Even with her body painted green I don't want to bang her. That's a part of She Hulk for me. Do I want to bang her? The character in the comic? Yes. Angie Harmon? No. So no Angie Harmon as She Hulk. It's simple math to me.

Don't want to see She-Hulk at all. Don't want to see the franchise get diluted.

I don't know why CaptainCraig is getting a hard time for pointing out the obvious. Hollywood is sexist and ageist! A man in his 40s, 50s or 60s can play an action hero in a franchise but very few women get away with it. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule but by-and-large, it's only established actresses, such as Angelina Jolie or Milla Jojovich, or else actresses who are associated with a particular role (Sigourney in Alien, Hamilton in Terminator).

Harmon's career never really rose above direct-to-video (and I choose 'video' deliberately above DVD, because that was her era). She's more famous for her love life than anything else now. The odds of her being handed the lead in a franchise like this are too astronomical even for C-3PO to compute.

And don't compare it to RDJ getting the role of Iron Man. RDS was always regarded as a great actor, even when at his career nadir. Angie - not so much.

I didn't mean to say "Angie Harmon is a shoo-in for the role." I was just saying "It's not necessarily true that being in her late 30s would disqualify an actress for such a role, speaking in general terms." As you say, there are other factors that make her an unlikely choice (and there aren't many cases where just saying in the press that you want a role leads to getting that role), but that particular factor isn't a dealbreaker in and of itself.

    ^ Not you specifically, Christopher.

To be fair to CaptainCraig, he said Hollywood would not cast a 40 year old woman in the role. And I think he's right, unless some 40 year-old superstar expressed an interest in the role, it would go to a much younger woman (in the unlikely event that they ever made it).

People cite Milla and Angelina but look at how little we've heard from Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Famke Jansen, and the likes of late. Charlize Theron has two high-profile roles out at the minute but in one she's the villain (Snow White) and the other is an ensemble role, where the concept and the director are the real star (Prometheus).

    that's what inspired this thread.

A 40year old actress... 39 year old Actress HAS expressed an interest in the character, but then Nick Cage has a standing demand to his agent that he be cast as all Superheroes.

    Oh, were you just dovetailing?

What if Angie started off with some brand placement?

Maybe volunteer for a cover or two for the Avengers?

Besides She Hulk did some fine work with Howard the Duck in her time, and supposedly marvel is looking for a vehicle to get that drake off the ground.

Howard the Duck can only properly be played by Robert Blake in his 30s.
At least that's how I always saw it when I read the comics. Howard was Baretta in his hard-luck-bum disguise. As a duck.

Thank you CaptainDemotion the push back to the obvious baffled me as well.
A non action associated 40yr old actress was not going to be offered the part, if it ever became available in the near future.

    Dude.

Angie Harmon is the one who said she could show off her 36Cs in the role.

Who exactly is giving him a hard time? I've seen Captain Craig reacting like he's being given a hard time because people pointed out counter examples while he's just "shooting from the hip," but I've not seen anyone actually giving him a hard time yet, unless politely disagreeing with someone qualifies.

The point is the She-Hulk is the big guns of the Marvel Universe.

She doesn't have the somewhat mis-shapen body that the Hulk does. Except for the size of her boobs she's pretty much normal shaped. Athletic certainly, but still pretty normal. Although some artists go for the female body-builder look for her, most go for athlete.

But, she's also seven feet tall! So some cgi is going to be involved. But I think it can be more of what was used in CA:TFA to do "Skinny Steve" rather than what they needed for the Hulk.

Actually my top choice for the role would be to go with Denise Masino, but since she's done soft-core porn it'll never happen.

For comic-book women, that is normal.

    Officially, 6'7" but "variable."

A lot of that was forced perspective. Some was matting Chris Evans's head onto a smaller stand-in's body, and while it would be possible to find a real woman of suitable build, it might not be easy. The rest was done by digitally altering footage of Evans himself to make him look scrawnier.

However, it was limited to the first 20 minutes or so of the film, and one would expect She-Hulk (if they treat her at all authentically) to dominate the story more than that.
