    Thanks. :)

Alright, I just about met my goal, of being finished yesterday... I got all the major lighting and stuff done... I'm still missing just a few nav lights, and I have to tweak the lights on the back of nacelles, but otherwise, it is done. :)

I'm thinking of a good idea for a "first" wallpaper with this thing... what do you guys think would be appropriate? :)

The first two real wallpapers are done... they're just re-dos of a couple of my favorite images I did with older versions of the model...

Lovely looking work. Outstanding even. And I don't care for this version of the Enterprise that much.

My only question to you is (and it is not a nitpick).... shouldn't the windows have slightly rounded corners rather that the right angles which are in your model?

I'd love it if you put some lettering or the registry number somewhere on the underside of the primary hull, always felt it was a big mistake for the designers not to have some designation there. Looks too bland to my eye. But what do I know?

One last question if I may, with regards to the saucer. As far as I can tell from seeing the movie and looking at your model, there is no curvature on the underside from the outer edge to where the "bulbous" shape begins. Hopefully you get what I mean from that!

    Great work!

    Thanks. :)

    :)

As for the windows, they're pretty much square. :)

I'd prefer lettering on the bottom of the saucer too, but it looks like the creators thought putting it on the bottom of the secondary hull satisfied the need. In one of my early models, I had it, but it was too different from the movie look.

And, you are correct about the lower saucer "undercut" that the original ship and the refit had... It's flat on the new version. I'm kind of glad it is, only because you don't lose that almost full deck of space there, for no reason but aesthetics.

    Later, guys,

Madman....your work is awesome. As a long time purist TOS fan, I had a fixed, adamant disdain for any Enterprise that wasn't TOS...but, I have to admit, this "NuPrise" has grown on me, and I find that I like the damn thing a lot.....:techman:. Being an avid motorhead doesn't hurt, as this new ship gives me that feeling of "hot rod"....

BTW, since the tech of this ship is virtually unknown to me, what is it's official designation in the Trek World? I've heard it called the "NuPrise", the "JJPrise", and a host of other unbecoming names...but, does it have an 'official' name or model designation?

    Thanks, guys. :)

Ghostsoldier, I'm not sure that it has an official name, it's just the Enterprise. :)

I don't really like calling it the NuPrise, because that reminds me too much of Galactica, and I don't like JJPrise, because JJ Abrams didn't design the thing. I've just been calling it the "New" Enterprise, of the 2009 Enterprise, or the Trek XI Enterprise. :)

    Absolutely fantastic stuff.
The new Enterprise on it's own is a beautiful ship. If we didn't have anything previously to compare it to.
