Living alone and not having people over for the main event of the season (December 24th in the evening) I usually don't bother with a tree... But I do have some decorations that I put up and one of them is in the general shape of a tree: I would never buy a plastic xmas tree, but when I saw this white version in IKEA a couple of years ago I caved. Maybe because it doesn't pretend to be a real tree... I mean: there's no albino chlorophyll, is there?
^ A white tree goes well w/ a tuxedo kitty, too. I saw a black tree a couple years ago. That was really cool! If it had been the right size, I would've bought it.
^ That I would have bought too I happened to have a pack of IKEAs "Dioder" lying around and have been playing a bit about with them... (Video recorded with all other lights off. - Click image to watch.) Not perfect, but definitely in the kitschy spirit of the season -I think.
^Thanks, do vote for it in the upcoming vote-thread in misc. then (And about the lit tree: don't think I'll have it on much as it interferes with the Ambilightâ„¢ on my TV (or maybe I shluld just adjust it to one (non changing) colour))
^Am loving the white tree. And no, I'm sure there's no such thing as albino chlorophyll. It would be slightly frightening if there were . *lol*
My halls are all decked. A wreath on the door, a collection of six creches (nativity sets) scattered around the house, and a tree. Notice the Enterprise D in the center.
Thank you, auntie. One of those brightly colored birdies (the one above the Enterprise) is actually a rabbit with wings.
Dad brought in the tree the other night, and decorated it and lit it and then mum disassembled the whole thing the next day - but I did have time to take this shot:
