What a sweet cat! I've always been fond of that colour pattern. :)

^ He's a sweetheart! Almost 14 years old but still playful like a kitten. :)

That's a little too pedantic, even for me. ;) But you're right. My dictionary says koshka is cat and kot is tomcat.

It is with regret that I inform you all of my Casey's passing. On Wednesday evening, she lost the use of her right hind leg. She was in horrible pain and I had to rush her to an emergency vet clinic. The vet examined her and told me that she had a blood clot and underlying heart disease. So I had to make the decision to release her from the pain...

Oh, Peach Wookie, I am so sorry. I know how hard it is to make that decision. I am so sorry for your loss.

Thanks, Shanndee. I know I did the right thing, having promised myself and Casey that I'd do no heroics if it meant she suffered. But in the end, it didn't make it any easier.

No, no it doesn't. I did perform heroics once before, and when I realized that I was doing it for my own benefit, not my cat's, I swore that I would never do it again. You definitely did the right thing. Take care.

    :(

I am so sorry to hear, Peach Wookie. That decision to put a beloved companion to rest is such a wrenching one. Just over a month ago I had to put my best buddy, Indiana to sleep. That was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I still miss him, very much. And even though I *knew* (finally, after months agonizing over the decision), that the time was right ... I still have a hard time with it all.

My thoughts and feelings are with you.

Thanks, guys. Shandee, it's been almost 17 years since we stopped the heroics on my first cat. In that case, it was diabetes that was ravaging Sonya's body. We gave Sonya insulin shots every day and finally her body couldn't take any more and she was in a lot of pain. So we released her. I swore I'd never do that to another pet.

I've just now cleared her things... and I'll have to vacuum my floor of kitty litter.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Peach Wookiee. It's never an easy decision to make, but you do what you have to when the time comes. You gave Casey a wonderful home and all the love a pet could ask for. In the end, your love helped you make that so tough, but right choice.

So sorry to hear that. I cried for days after we put my last cat, Max, to sleep. I was a wreck. I wish you all the best.
