I'm in the process of reviving a ZE4300 for a disadvantaged person, it's a christmas suprise. It needs a battery, as in it has no battery currently.

Also, I need to nuke the Windows and reWindow it. What do I need in terms of Pavilion-specific software to make it go?

It's old but it'll let my friend here surf teh nets, and since he has to roll his butt down the road to the public net-node it'll be double good for him as he seldom gets out.

I think you can just go to the HP website and type in the model number and it will bring up the drivers you need and you can just download them.

Yup...the HP web site should have what you need.

Surprise, they did have the firmware updates and drivers for this old laptop.

Now I just need to track down a battery.

You can probably pick one up at a used parts shop.
