Reminded me of the late 90's Avs- Red Wings playoff series. Will we have a goalie fight next game?

It actually reminded me of the Sens-Flyers game a few years ago. Pretty sure that those teams ended up with fewer skaters at the end, but that one had three separate brawls in it.

Crazy game. And Subban is a punk. Gryba is back from his undeserved suspensio next game--that should be interesting.

I guess the Hawks only felt like playing ten minutes yesterday well except for Crawford who gave up his usual one weak goal at just the wrong time. Corey those are for the first period not OT.

Well Ottawa is now up 3-1 in the series after coming back from being down 2-0 to win it in OT.

Edited to add: And Vancouver was swept.

    ^Nice!

Ottawa just took the series in 5 with a 6-1 win tonight!

I have to say given how obnoxious Habs fans are at Ottawa games it was very satisfying to see Ottawa close out the series in Montreal and silence the crowd.

What the hell is up with Ovechkin in that play? Did he hear a whistle that no one else did?

    ^ That's just how he plays. ;) No back-checking what-so-ever.

By the way I'm fully aware My was swept, and I give the Leafs credit for making this far, so I can relate to your fans years of Frustration, but Boston played with more heart when it counted.

Kings and Sharks tomorrow. I'm not sure who to root for or who my beard is supposed to bring luck to now. I'm so confused. . . but happy.

I particularly enjoyed the Pageau/Ole chant in the other game in Ottawa.

And holy shit, Toronto. How do you blow that, regardless of how good the other team is?

My wife hosted a hockey party last night, a whole bunch of her cousins came over to watch game 7. She's a particularly passionate Leaf fan, been following them like a religious zealot since she discovered hockey in 2006, never seen them in a playoff game.

She was getting very emotional when they tied the series, and with a 4-1 lead in the 3rd last night, they were all planning the next round, going downtown for a game (she and I went to Maple Leafs Square to watch the game on the big screen outside the arena for game 3 against the Bruins).

And then that collapse...dear lord. I thought the lot of them were going to do a mass suicide. My poor wife is so bummed. Hopefully she'll realize that they still had their best season in 10 years, and they'll probably get better.

    That said, Go Sens!

The thing that REALLY ticks me off... the Canucks get nailed with a penalty for body checking. Sharks score and finish off the Canucks. Eastern media explains how there was not question that it was a penalty.

Bruins make almost the exact same hit. No penalty called. Bruins during the time that should have been a power play for the Leafs (according to the criteria established in the Canucks Sharks series) score two goals.

How is one play obviously a penalty, and yet the same play in the Toronto Boston series not?

And a day after his clutch goal in the last minute to tie it up, Daniel Alfredsson is nominated for the Messier leadership award.
