    Sickbay, dammit.
Has anyone suggested Bruce Willis yet? He has that smirk, and can do the "twinkle in the eye" thing. He can do action, and he can do ... other stuff--I think. Slap a decent rug on him (I don't like his shaved head look) and there you go.

Bruce Willis as a rebooted Picard, you wouldn't even need the rug.

Apologies to The Stig: looking at Hinman's data again, I think it's him (and by extension, me) that's made a mistake and not you. Hinman's claiming that STID's profit margin worldwide was 146%, but that doesn't seem like it can be true if his claim about the cost to make it is accurate; the real number should be 246%.

Ranked by profit margin with that error corrected, the list would look like this:

    1. TWOK
    2. TVH
    3. TSFS
    4. TMP
    5. STID
    6. GEN
    7. FC
    8. TUC
    9. ST09
    10. TFF
    11. INS

And in terms of actual dollars of profit:

    1. $296.4 TMP
    2. $277.4 STID
    3. $218 TVH
    4. $202.2 TWOK
    5. $181.5 ST09
    6. $148.2 TSFS
    7. $127.6 FC
    8. $111.4 GEN
    9. $85.5 TUC
    10. $45.3 TFF
    11. $8.1 INS

You therefore are correct that STID made more money and was more profitable than ST09, and that it saw most of that profit from the international market.

Ah, I see what I did. I misread and mistook that 135% TMP Profit Margin as Before inflation Adjustment, and TVH 300% Profit Margin as TMP's Inflation adjusted Margin :alienblush:

Margin, yes, is Profitability. But when you say "Made the Most Profit", that means resulted in the most money after taking out the expenses (IE: Budget in this exercise).

Getting back on step, Captain Jack Harkness (or the like). Broke the barriers of bald captain, black captain, and woman captain. Time for a gay (or at least indiscriminately horny) captain. My 2¢.

I think we should break the barrier of fan discrimination and have a captain who lives in the NuVerse.

    Hueh.

I think we can make everybody happy. Why not a straight-up comedy? I mean, not like GalaxyQuest, but like a Coen Bros. comedy where they don't get to be heroic in the end?

Go to the NuVerse and tell the story of Starfleet's equivalent of the Willie Dee. (Which in NuTrek is the Farragut, I'm guessing, based on how keen Uhura was to avoid it.) It's a win from every possible angle. :bolian:

    How about Jim Caviezel?

^ Yes, he'd make a fine Captain of the Willie Dee. Just the right mix of charisma, forcefulness and lugubrious tragedy, he'd be an ideal straight man amidst the chaos. ;)

Okay, it was just a suggestion as I like Person of Interest. I'd actually prefer to see him as Batman but since they gave it to Ben Affleck for some reason I'll settle for Star Trek

:D I know you weren't really suggesting him for my tongue-in-cheek Willie Dee idea, I'm just messing with you.

Jim Caviezel as Batman, though... that's just crazy enough to work...

Oh I know you were messing with me BigJake so it's all good.

As for Caviezel being Batman. Well it's better than Affleck (who imo can't act ). Of course if he ever did become Batman he'd have to have Finch as Alfred.

Also apparently I'm a Lieutenant Commander now. Is that because I have over a 100 posts now?

He pretty much plays Batman on Person of Interest already so I really see it working.
