So stuff is going to come through the sun and enlighten and/or attack us.

Shouldn't this be in the scifi and fantasy forum?

In Ayreon's Into the Electric Castle scifi metal opera, Sharon den Adel's character thought the sun was a doorway and ended up dying a horrifying death just like the Denevan pilot from Operation: Annihilate. Worse yet, her death was accompanied by the hideous grunting of George Oosthoek. And we all know that playing jet ski inside stars ends up with cogenitors committing suicides. Not pleasant at all. Using the sun as a doorway seems like a very bad idea.

I think the basic Idea is that stars (and planets too) can be hyperdimensional portals or "stargates", much like black holes are speculated to be? In any case, I suggest you do a Google search, since an adequate answer to your query is unlikely to be best served here, due to space limitations, among other things.

Oh, one thing I will add is that shamans the world over have been claiming to use the sun as a "doorway" to the "upper worlds" since as long as anyone cares to remember. A good popular book on this and related subjects is called "Galactic Alignment" by John Major Jenkins, check it out.

Come on guys, stars can barely make a dent into space-time. You can't use them for creating a warp field, opening wormholes, building jump gates or anything of that sort. They can't even tear your legs apart through tidal forces. Everyone knows that you need a supermassive black hole for these things. As long as the late Andrew "Mac" McDermott is singing them, not Matthew Bellamy.

We have a cloaked Dyson swarm around the sun? Now I'm scared.

Knowledge comes in, nonsense comes out. You can't explain that.

A doorway, you say? Where does it lead - and what do you call it? Is it like being... wrapped in joy?

    Star Trek is science fiction.

When it comes to actual science, evidence is the name of the game.

I've been relatively tolerant of, shall we say, less scientifically rigorous topics of late, but this one (and its corresponding reaction) is a bridge too far.

To the OP: the "sun as a doorway" is nonsense with no scientific basis, much less a "theory" we could enlighten you about.
