If the makeup were really good, I could get into that one! But since this is SyFy, they'd probably "make do" with Woochie brand nose pieces and Rubies' grease-paint. Sincerely, Bill
That was an early script title that was rewritten to sex appeal to the teenage demographic. Besides, it's Wolfgirl; because everything is better with vampires or werewolves... BTW, will there be any werewolves or vampires on Polaris?
In the third season, once Dennis leaves, the budget goes downhill, and they start having to use stock costumes and sets.
Dennis and I talked about where a follow-up film could go, but right now we're focused on getting this one done and any potential sequels remain merely speculation. We've recently been able to watch the first 15 minutes all cut together, and I think we're happy with how it's looking. It doesn't look like most fan films. It has it's own style, in part because we weren't trying to ape an existing show or franchise. That's fun because it lets us figure out what kind of identity we want it to have. For instance, what tempo should the edit have? Are we cutting this like a TV show (!45 seconds per page) or a movie (~1 minute a page)? I recently posted a few frames from the edit on the Polaris topic under Fan Productions. Scroll down THIS PAGE to see!
Yes, that's Brooks. He's a Marine, which is why his uniform is a different color. It's a similar design to the "Navy" uniforms worn by the others, so any apparent Trek-ness only exists when you can't see the front.
Yeah, I figured as much. Still, for publicity purposes, you may not want to use the shot lest other fanboys get the wrong impression of the production quality. The other images make it look like a very professional production indeed.
Froze the sub-Ds for the main engine cowlings, optimized the mesh objects, and started working on the final details:
I'm hoping to finish it in another 2 or 3 weeks, but a lot depends on how hard the "sails" turn out to be. The outer shells are pretty much done already, but I haven't even started on the internal structures and related details. I have some solid concepts in mind for all of that but I just don't have a feel yet for how much time it's going to take. Could be a solid weekend, or it could add another week, I just don't know yet.
