For Western fans (like me) I thought I'd mention that director Andrew McLaglen died August 30 at age 94. The son of Academy Award winning actor Victor McLaglen, he grew up around John Ford movie sets and went on to a successful career as a director. He directed over a hundred episodes of Have Gun Will Travel and almost a hundred Gunsmokes, and episodes of many other TV shows such as Perry Mason and Rawhide. He also directed the John Wayne movies McLintock!, Hellfighters, Chisum, The Undefeated and Cahill, US Mashal, the Jimmy Stewart pictures Shenandoah and The Rare Breed, and the war pictures The Devil's Brigade and The Wild Geese. He also directed several episodes of Gene Roddenberry's first series, The Lieutenant. He had a pretty good run!
Fantastic director. His work on Have Gun, Will Travel was remarkable, especially when one compares it to similar programming of that era. RIP
