I keep wondering if this has ran it's course and I'm consistently wrong.

It was Anthony aka Powdered Toast Man who came up with the idea of making a video out of the thing. He did all the music and editing. We tried to give everyone credit where we could. It was quite difficult trawling through a 54 page thread to work how who came up with what. :D

The Undiscovered Sombrero was the single most difficult thing I have ever done. It very nearly killed me but I had to try and top the others. :D

I hope you all spotted the more subtle sombreros... ;)

You did a great job on all of them. I think I got most of the sombreros in Undiscovered Sombrero. The battle damaged Sombreroprise was the best part I thought. :techman:

Kudos to both you and PTM for getting this movie done.

my one tiny complaint is, you cut away from the final shot on the WOK animation too quickly.

otherwise, that's 5 kinds of awesome.

Just when I thought this thread couldn't get any better!

I'm more convinced than ever that we're going to get an actual picture of J.J. Abrams in a sombrero before this is all over.

That brought a tear to me eye it was so filled with win to the awesome power! Seriously, amazing work by the both of you. Absolutely outstanding. The Sombrero Trek phenomenon has gone viral!

Now, where's "Star Trek: Sombreroations", "Sombrero Trek: First Contact", etc., etc.??? (Just kidding...you guys have already outdone yourselves.)

Quite possibly. We messed about with the video loads.

To be honest, I spent 3 days dicking around on the Undiscovered Sombrero and I could have done more, I had to manipulate pretty much every frame (apart from a couple of torpedo shots). At some point I had to put it down and give it over to Anthony.

The Balok Sombrero was a last minute idea - it almost looks as if he always wore one.

Be my guest. I'm never doing another animation again. Ever.

looks like Jon gave you guys a preview. The article is now UP at trekmovie. It has the higher resolution version embedded. if you go to the youtube link, i suggest (if you have bandwidth) the click 'watch in high quality' and also watch in full screen if possible. there are some subtle things you might miss, especially in the TUC section

    glad you all like it

I hope that those who havent been following it will like it and it isnt too much of an inside joke. spread it around and see what people think

and well done to all the artists in this thread that made it possible.

    That is solid genius.

And it doesn't hurt that the Atredies ships(or whichever ones those are) sort of look like sombreros already. :D

Thanks for doing the video, Anthony. You and Jon have done a great job!

The next step is to contact Abrams and convince him to wear a sombrero. Or even better: They have to CGI a sombrero into Trek XI!
