Well, this is my last resort... is there anyone here good with computers who can help me fix mine? The clipboard doesn't collect anything I cut or copy lately. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Windows XP, and if it at all matters, Microsoft Office 2003.

Do you have remote desktop enabled?

If you don't use that service, then disable it. Reboot may be necessary to take effect. Does that solve your problem?

^ Good question. I've never used remote desktop, or even had it enabled, but I'd like to know if/how it could affect something like this.

Alternately, there could be some registry damage/corruption causing the problem. Best thing may be to do an installation repair (assuming you have the original OS disk or the reinstall disk). I had some slight goofiness going on with Win7 a couple days ago, and a repair did the trick.

Remote desktop will share the clipboard as part of the remote service.

So anything you copy to clipboard locally is in competition with what can be copied to clipboard remotely. Which takes precedence? And which clipboard are you pasting from?

I think it is bugged somehow in xp, because for some people, when RD is enabled, it will get into a state where it will forget what is put there locally, or overwrite it with what it believes should be there.

This may not be the problem however, but it is the first thing I'd try.

The very first xp machine I used had this bug, and it really turned me off xp, because I rely on clipboard functions working as they're supposed to.
