Hm, or maybe 17th century, tie the Templars to the Gunpowder plot...
In the gameworld the Templars are connected with the Catholics...

A few years ago they could have rode the "Les Miserables" band wagon and had a game set during the french revolution.

It's too bad they're refusing to do a game set in Japan, I think it could be interesting. If I had to guess, I would think they would go back to the pirate setting of AC4 for at least one more game.

The problem with doing an AC game in Japan is how to distinguish it from just a Ninja game - basically it'd be Tenchu Z, to be specific...

We can start by it not sucking :p

Seriously though, there hasn't been a decent Ninja game in forever. I don't think there has ever been an open world Ninja game. As a matter of fact, I don't think there has ever been an open world feudal japan game at all. That alone would set it apart from Tenchu.

There should be a disco nap mechanic.

I would like something like Ancient Egypt, or even the time of those who came before.

Oh, yeah, what I do want from Assassin’s Creed 5, regardless of setting:

A main character with customisable race/gender, or, at the very least, a playable female Assassin character. Aside from being a good idea generally, they need to make up for the genderfail-snatched-from-the-jaws-of-victory in Brotherhood… *

*- i.e. the thing whereby it was possible to create a mixed or even completely female Assassin Guild, but in which the cutscenes for a mission involving them all showed them all as male.

It will be awesome if it will be set in Victorian England.

All I ask is that the present day storyline return. I liked the Desmond story, and the 30 minutes in the present from Black Flag wasn't nearly deep enough for my tastes.

I agree. Killing off Desmond was, I think, the worst decision this franchise could have made. The whole reason we were having these Animus adventures in the first place was because Desmond was trying to locate artifacts in the past.

Now we're basically just ourselves playing a video game of ourselves playing a video game.

I was hoping for another adventure with Edward. He was a good character.

^Indeed. Not that they both can't be good, but this game series is so formulaic that too many releases are just going to burn us out.

I think the two releases thing is just for this year, so that 360/PS3 owners get a game, while the One/PS4 game won't run on those earlier machines.

Hardly the first time - it's just been a portable game that they've released instead of another console one (Bloodlines with II, Liberation with III).
