Thanks. Before I left the Centre one of the staff approached me and asked if I could visit her home on Christmas Eve for their family and their little girl. We arranged for me to be there just before 7pm after they had returned from Christmas Mass. I knocked quietly on the side door where she handed me a large parcel for the little girl. I then went to the front door where I made my entrance. The little girl was about 3 or 4 years old (her name was Sidney) and she could barely contain herself. After I was welcomed by everyone they took pictures with Sidney on my lap and afterward she fetched a book and I read her “The Night Before Christmas” (the original version and not the one I posted upthread ). Afterward I got a hug and kiss from her and shook everyone’s hand before leaving. I think I was a hit and I certainly enjoyed myself. What a neat thing to do on Christmas Eve. When I got home I stayed in costume to deliver a bottle of wine Dad bought for our neighbour across the street to thank him for helping out with our snowblower.
