Awesome ceremony today at Fenway. Loved the David Ortiz comments too, expressing how he really feels.

Haha, that top one is hilarious! Had to watch that one a couple times before I figured out what happened.

Jason Heyward out after having an appendectomy in Denver last night. Sheesh. They will get Freddie Freeman back soon and will look to Jordan Schafer and Reed Johnson to fill the void. The Braves have started to cool off losing 4 of their last 5 games. Thankfully the Nationals haven't really been all that great either.

The guy sliding into second wasn't the one called out. It was the other fellow who was just standing there. I believe the rule is if two people touch the same base, the tail runner is out. But he thought he was out and started running back to the dugout. By the time he realized he was still in play, he was closer to first. Love the annoyed... "just stop before you do something even more dumb" gesture by the first base coach. :p

Well Reed Johnson had himself a day filling in for Heyward. 4 for 4 with three doubles. The usual guys hit bombs again; Upton, Gattis and Uggla. Minor continues to be a solid number 4 in the rotation and the back end of the bullpen looked great again.

Hopefully Teheran can keep it close tonight in a game played in the low 20's temperature wise.

...and Marmol blows another save. Hate to say it, gut Gregg might be our best bet as closer. At least we know what we'll get from him pretty much.

.316 winning percentage... it's gonna be a long season for the Cubbies.

Reed Johnson's great to have off the bench. I'm sorry we got rid of him. He's streaky as heck, but when he's on, he's on. Perfect 4th outfielder.

Alfonso Soriano stole 2 straight bases last night. He must be having a second childhood or something.

Well, looks like Huddy's 200th win might happen at home. Hopefully, next week against the Nats.

So we're still not counting Robin Ventura's grand slam (ground rule double) in the playoffs against Atlanta.

^ Since it was counted as a single (due to Ventura not touching second base), apparently not...

I wonder if he was pissed about that. I know I would be. Granted they won a playoff game which was nice of course.
