I was not Harry Pottering it up.

I was arguing with my husband and watching Harry Potter in between, there is a difference.

As for people "afraid" that Kate was saying women can't "have it all", she was being honest. We "can't" have it all... without help.

Just as she pointed out men can't have it all, without help. Loved when she pointed out how Bill's wife "takes care" of him, and sighed for her when she commented that she didn't have that person in her life anymore.

Great show, excellent insights. Worth the hour and 36 minutes!

Froot I think I am kind of disturbed by the trololo. I mean, I have no words!!

What do we do when we can't find teacake? It's been a week.

ETA: I stalked her tbbs profile and it says her last activity here was 7/26, so a few days ago. Has she been on tumblr or the other places she frequents (I don't know those so can't check)?

 

I'm fairly sure teacake ok as I saw a new Melody Pond thingy pop up in the other place in the last couple of days. Maybe she's just taking a tea-break...

 

I'm too afraid to watch the trololo video now. Especially with Markira's reaction.

And I saw her last post on Tumblr too.

I was talking with "a friend", and they dissed both Narcissa Malfoy and Janeway.

My immediate thought:

 

THEY. KNOW. NOTHING.

One: Narcissa is awesome and the third best mother in Harry Potter.

Two: Janeway is super-mega-foxy-awesome-hot!

It was such a sad moment. I almost felt tempted to...well, let's just say I shouldn't have watched NTSF:SD:SUV::

 

Wasn't teacake supposed to be going to some convention where she'd get to meet Kate Mulgrew? I recall that was supposed to be around the end of July or early August though I may well have the dates wrong.

 

Have visions of teacake on some Janeway hajj.

 

I'm trying to watch it. I'm getting there. I just have to wait for my puppy to go back to sleep.

But ugh, I could care less about the Janeway hate. That's been going on for years. But Narcissa! Honestly. I mean, has she read the books? This is the woman who lied to Voldemort. Lied to her husband. Her sister! But more importantly, LIED TO VOLDEMORT! IN HIS FACE! She lied. To make sure her son was ok!

Ask your friend who Harry's father is. It's the sure way to know

And Gov Kodos the convention in Australia is the weekend after Vegas I believe so in a little less than a month.

DD, what reason did your friend give for dissing Janeway (and Narcissa)? Is this a Strong Woman Problem?

Meanwhile, my best friend has started her first organized watch through of Voyager, having only watched it here and there over the years (TOS/TNG fan), and wants to talk to me every day about the Bun. She has labelled this look "The Mini Bun".

 

Oh! Forgot about the Janeway trip, she hasn't mentioned it in a while. Well, I feel better now. Hope she's having fun.

ETA: Grr. So we still don't know what our teacake is up to. perhaps getting her outfits for the occasion ready, perfecting her bun, etc.

Possum, I thought Strong Woman Problem too with DD's Narcissa & Janeway hating friend. Not cool. Strong Women will either decimate you with their cutting powers, or ignore you as you are obviously beneath them. The latter is worse, imo.

I love that your friend wants to discuss the bun!
